As a vegan visiting Italy for the second time, I basically live off of marinara pizza and pasta arrabbiata, so, after a 15min conversation about what is vegan and what isn't, I ordered the pasta here as well. To my surprise, in this restaurant, they make it with some sort of weird salami, which I discovered while eating the third bite, apparently they insist on making it different from the rest of the entire country. I sent it back and lost all appetite, so I didn't want a replacement & the staff became rude in Italian (which I don't speak but can understand). They also have a big 'vegan' sign ar the entrance, which I now realise is very out of place.
The pasta itself was not great, to be fair the salami wasn't either. The rest of the party got pizzas and they were either cold, flavourless or undercooked.
The blessing in disguise here was that I ate somewhere else and did not feel nauseous for the remainder of the evening like the rest of the party.
It's also quite pricy for what it offers, however the drinks are strong, which is probably to compensate for the quality of the food.

Read moreAbsolutely loved this place! I ate here during my visit to Italy from the United States in early 2019. I really enjoyed the meatball sandwich, and the staff recommended that I try the local beer (Birra Napoli), which I liked so much that I still seek to purchase it in the U.S. The service was also impeccable, as we were served by two lovely ladies who were incredibly welcoming, charming, and were even happy to teach me a little of the Italian language. This was my first stop in Naples and it really set the tone for the rest of my positive experience in this beautiful city filled with such wonderful people. I truly never felt more at home than I did during my visit to Italy and my experience at Laura Bistrot was a huge part of it. I never write reviews but the food and my experience here were so enjoyable that I felt compelled to share. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be sure to eat there in my inevitable future visits to Naples. Torna a Napoli. I'm still...
Read moreService was pleasant and quick, place was clean with a nice ambience but I should have listened to my gut feeling to not eat where there are only tourists (if wanting to have truly quality local food). The night before we ate at a restaurant nearby called Tratoria Fedele, which was better priced, relatively speaking, and amazingly good even with the most simple dishes - sorry but I have to give them a plug because they're so good.
At Laura Bistrot we ordered the Spaghetti Maradona and Bolognese. It was okay but not good enough to wipe your plate dry with the bread, which I would think is a basic achievement with good pasta sauce. My bolognaise tasted like what I could make back home from the supermarket - edible and nicely presented but disappointing compared to what I was expecting.
Drinks were brought out quickly and glasses had lots of ice to pour the bottle drinks into, which was really good on a hot evening.
I wouldn't go back but it's fine if you're just hungry...
