We were on our way across the street to the TikTok-famous Antica pizza place when this enthusiastic owner invited us to sit down and try their pizza instead. As a tourist, I figured this was some sort of trap, but he convinced me that I could bring that Antica Michele pizza over to his restaurant, sit and eat it, while also eating his pizza.
We waited in line at Antica to grab our margherita, then came back over to this place to order another pizza.
With full certainty, I can say this pizza was FAR superior to the Antica pizza (no, I wasn’t paid for this review, I’m just the fatty American foodie in the picture). The sauce was SO vibrant compared to the Antica pizza sauce, the basil was popping in my mouth, and I could eat that pizza DAILY without feeling obese. It was EXTREMELY delicious without making me feel like I gobbled down a million calories, and I got a tasty spritz to boot, which was surprisingly strong, which I loved.
If you’re in the area to follow that TikTok trend of the Antica pizza, which is still nice by the way, give this one a shot. It’s like getting a Subway sandwich and thinking that’s top-tier, until you try a mom & pop restaurant’s Italian sub with premium meats and feeling like you’ve been missing out your whole life.
Try it! You can come back here and thank me. You’re...
Read moreSCAMERS! Went to L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele, but after we saw insane line and it was raining, we sat at this pizzeria. We order two pizzas, on the menu they were 5 and 7 euros, then we received some pastries/fries (the waiter didnt said anything) and we assumed that it was free, ate it and after we got and finished our pizzas asked for receipt, didnt get one, waiter just came and said 19€. We asked why, because two pizzas was combo of 12€, she said “yes, but per person to sit is 1€ and then fries was 5€”. I throw a big fit and she started shushing me, because every table got “special fries/pastries” and no one had any idea it had additional fees. Then she said “OK 14€”, I went to the cashier and he (men waiter) said “just cash” and I saw that they had card scanner, so I said “no, I can pay just by card” and then magically I was able to pay by card. In the end we didnt get any receipt and there weren’t anywhere written that there is any additional fee if you sit there. Just avoid, because they are pretty much taking advantage...
Read moreStaff was welcoming and not pushy as we weighed our options on our first night in Naples. We were offered an indoor or outdoor seat, taking the outdoor. A delightful pepper, almond hardened dough was provided as something to tempt our pallet while we waited for our pizza. A Diavola for my husband and a Margarita for myself. The dough had a delightful crunch on the base with an amazing chew. A generous portions of cheese, with a fresh and zesty sauce. We were both so pleased. We paired our pizzas with an Ambrata, local beer and an aperol spritz, respectively. Throughout the meal, rain was tempted to come, and the staff put out the awning in earnest and retracted when not needed, we fully recommend if you are looking for a excellent pizza and an opportunity to people watch and sit while you eat!
And as we were finishing our drinks the chef came out and brought us a nibble of a Heavenly dessert. Reminds me of a a lemony, anise, creamy, if it...
