I very rarely review anywhere, but this place will be an exception.
In short: Great food, cheap prices, very quick service. Functional venue with no bells or whistles attached.
In long: My partner and I did not expect much of it going in. It has only outdoor seating with rather dull and cheap looking seating. Atmospherically it is not much to look at, passable for a cheap street restaurant but that’s it. Still, we were hungry and the prices were very good so we decided to give it a go, and both ordered half a grilled chicken with potatoes.
That turned out to be the best dining decision we have made so far this holiday: It was with us quickly, the potatoes were lovely, and we both agreed the chicken was one of the best we had ever had in our lives! It was cooked damn near perfectly, and tasted divine, and came right off the bone with ease.
We both left very satisfied. The dish we had was only 7 euros which was very generous for both the quantity and quality of food.
My only complaint would be the cutlery: the restaurant provides only disposable plastic cutlery and plastic cups. We visited on a windy day and lost a cup to the wind, and the plastic cutlery is functional but not sturdy and so not the most comfortable to use. The quality of the food and service however more than made up for this minor...
Read moreAladin is a small street food spot with a casual atmosphere and a menu focused on Neapolitan fried snacks. At first glance, it looks like a great place to grab a quick bite or just enjoy a drink — but our experience turned out to be a bit unusual.
When we first visited, we were told that we couldn’t order drinks without food, which was frustrating. So we chose a few items from the Fritti & Sfizzi section of the menu: • Arancino Rosso – made with rice, ragù, mozzarella, and peas — it was tasty and had a nice texture. • Frittatina – filled with bucatini pasta, béchamel, mozzarella, and minced meat — also flavorful and interesting. • Crocchè – with potatoes, mozzarella, and cheese — this one we didn’t enjoy; the flavor was bland and the texture wasn’t great.
Strangely, when we returned on another day, we were able to buy drinks without any food, which made the earlier experience feel inconsistent and a bit confusing.
The food itself was alright — creative and different, especially for fried snacks — but the service and the “rules” felt unclear and...
Read moreExcellent pizza, but terrible incident with the service. The food consisted of perhaps the best pizza I've ever tasted in the form of the diavola pizza, which I was able to indulge in since the server told me this is a fully halal establishment. One huge gripe is the service. I had the misfortune to deal with one of the rudest people in my life when I went to pay the bill. This old Italian man snapped and literally yelled at me within moments to pay with my credit card when I gently tried to communicate that I'd like to see the cost before I pay. I would not recommend coming to an establishment that engages in such...
