Not sure I could overwhemingly recommend this hotel.
Service
Upon our arrival we were told that the charge had been attempted to the card registered at time of booking, but it had failed.
The receptionist told us they had emailed to advise us of this and they were 2 hours away from giving the room to someone else so its a good thing we had arrived when we did.
My partner checked and we received the email just 30 minutes before we arrived! I found this very worrying, as we were on a 3 hour train ride from Florence to get there. Any major delays and we'd have been absolutely stuck.
The Room
The room was reasonable, clean and comfortable. The towel rack in the bathroom was so high, I had to get on tip toes to reach it even at full stretch(i'm 5ft 3 "), and the hooks for the bath robes were even higher. The shower was very powerful so a pleasant experience.
The sound deadening in the room was pretty good for external noise (its next to a very busy road and the drivers like beeping, so thats a massive plus), but internally, not so great. We could hear conversations very clearly from the next room and corridor, and even snoring!
On our last night, a very noisy guest was having a very loud conversation at midnight-2am on their balcony, in the room AND pacing up and down the hallway. Obviously, the hotel has no control over this person but it was certainly a distraction from sleep-considering we had an early flight to catch!
The bed was very comfortable, despite it being 2 singles pushed together.
We got a kettle and a couple of packs of coffee tea and snacks, but not 2 of each which was a little odd, considering we'd booked for 2 occupants.
We bought the Amore package so we had a beautiful bunch of roses and a bottle of Prosecco delivered to our room which was really nice. With that you get a 50 euro voucher towards dinner BUT it turns out its a credit to the room (small detail that I only found out when I went to pay but it matters in my opinion).
Food
The breakfast was a brilliant spread of the usual fare, pastries, cereals, fruit etc, along with fruit juices, teas and coffees all seemingly freshly prepared which was nice.
Unfortunately, my experience of the dinner was not so pleasant. Considering they market the cuisine as "fine dining", it was severely sub par in my opinion. I had ribs, and they came out on a sizzling plate which was a great piece of theatre, but they were overcooked, dry, tough and largely inedible. I have had far better ribs at my local Harvester at a lower price. My partner had a similar experience with their steak and had to leave it.
The puddings were quite nice though, perhaps because they were likely defrosted on demand.
Summary
Despite incredibly upsetting first impressions at reception, and a lackluster dinner, this hotel is in a convenient location, especially if you are traveling by rail, and its a good base to see the sights of Naples. Its clean and comfortable and the staff are largely polite and kind.
It maybe be a good idea if you've requested a Vesuvius view room to confirm you are on a higher floor because on floor 2 you mostly see the supermarket!
Also, please note, the Terrace was not open at the time of my visit (early September 2025), we went up to level 7, but the floor appeared empty. There were no signs that we could see...
Read moreMy recent stay at your hotel from July 26–29, 2025, was deeply upsetting and completely unacceptable. What should have been a smooth check-out process at 4 a.m. on July 29th instead turned into a degrading and infuriating encounter that left both my friend and me feeling disrespected, profiled, and humiliated.||||Upon check-out, we were repeatedly interrogated by the front desk guy about whether we had used the minibar. We clearly stated multiple times that we had not. Instead of taking our word as guests, the staff member accused us of lying and insisted on inspecting the minibar in our room. Given that we were on a tight schedule to catch our international flight, this delay was both stressful and unnecessary...but we allowed the inspection because we had nothing to hide.||||My friend and I are both professional Asian American women in our early 40s. She is a middle school science teacher, and I am a university adjunct professor and business analyst. The way we were treated bore no respect for who we are as individuals...or as paying guests.||||As we attempted to leave while the minibar inspection began, we were confronted by another staff member...shorter, bigger than front desk guy, and far more aggressive guy...who angrily shouted at us, demanding that we could not leave until the first employee returned. His tone was hostile and intimidating. The entire exchange was not only inappropriate but felt dehumanizing, as though we were being treated like criminals over a minibar that we had not even touched.||||Once the inspection was completed and it was confirmed that nothing was missing, there was no apology from either staff member. Instead, one tried to casually ask about our travel plans...as though that would erase the offensive treatment we had just endured. You cannot disrespect guests and then expect a friendly conversation to smooth it over.||||This experience was appalling. If your staff is trained to treat guests this way over a minibar, your priorities are severely misplaced. Whether this was racial profiling, a lack of training, or both, it is absolutely inexcusable. No guest...especially not women traveling alone...should ever be treated this way.||||We will never return to this property, and we will certainly not recommend it to anyone else. What was meant to be a relaxing end to a beautiful trip was instead soured by an experience that left us shocked, angered, and deeply...
