The Sea Front Pasta Bar delivered one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in Europe. From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere felt both casual and refined, perfectly setting the tone for an evening of indulgence. We opted for the chef’s six-course tasting menu, which at under €100 per person felt like an incredible value considering the quality and variety.
The fun crisp starter was playful and delicious, a great way to kick things off alongside a wonderful wine selection. My favorite was a Sicilian white, bright and crisp, which paired beautifully with nearly every course. Of the pastas, the smoked clam pasta was the clear standout, smoky, briny, and perfectly balanced. Hot on its heels was the fried zucchini flower, my personal favorite bite of the night. Light, crisp, and bursting with flavor, it captured the essence of summer in one delicate mouthful.
The short rib ragù over pasta was another highlight, deeply comforting and rich, while the pasta with red sauce was deceptively simple but executed with perfection. The only dish that fell slightly short for us was the eggplant-stuffed pasta. While flavorful, the fried pasta shell made it tricky to cut through, and it disrupted the otherwise seamless flow of the meal. That said, it was still tasty, just not as effortlessly enjoyable as the others.
Dessert was a flawless finish, topped off by a charming tin of treats to take home. Watching the chefs cook in front of us was an experience in itself, and head chef Gianluca’s attention to detail, ear tuned to every station, made it clear he takes pride in ensuring perfection. The service was amazing, warm yet professional, and we left very happy, and very stuffed. Sea Front Pasta Bar is...
Read moreIf anyone from any food guides is reading this, know that no one from our party would ever recommend this restaurant. Someone from our party had a wonderful solo experience in spring of 2023 but was thoroughly disappointed this time. This is not Michelin Bib Gourmand quality.
Entry: The restaurant reduced my reservation from 5 to 2 people without telling me and would only seat us after I showed them their confirmation email to me.
Food: The food was too salty and 2/3 pasta dishes on the Chef Fai Tu tasting menu were undercooked. I could still see the white after biting into each piece. To be clear, this was much less cooked than “al dente.”
Wine: Part of our party got the wine pairing. The other part got a bottle to share amongst the others. The wine pairing was 100% not worth it. First, our server reacted to our request for the wine pairing by saying that “It would be easier for me if you just ordered a bottle for the table.” Crazy. Two of us got it anyways. The servers did not bother to explain why the wines paired well with the dishes. For our fourth and supposedly last glass of the pairing, they poured us wine from our table’s bottle, not from a different bottle. When we asked for the fourth glass, the server said we had received it. When we pushed back that we saw them pour the same bottle into all of our glasses and that the fourth glass clearly wasn’t a different wine, they consulted amongst themselves and then gave us a different, non-dessert wine. (The dessert had been served by this point.)
There were a host of other issues, but these are the highlights. Would not recommend. I got better pasta at the add-on lunch experience at a non-specialty farm...
Read moreWe ordered the tasting menu "chef fai tu" which was 70 Euro per person. The pasta were good. Just the squid in one of the pastas were so hard under the tooth. The starter was not fresh. And the worst part was the dessert. It was Tiramisu. My tiramisu was ok( nothing special) but my husband's Tiramisu was tasting sour, like it was spoiled. We told the waiter. Firstly he didn't accept that there some problem with my husband's dessert. He told that maybe the chef has pour more liquor on my husband's dessert. We are not fool. So my husband didn't eat his dessert. After some minutes he came with another Tiramisu. It had the same problem. Again my husband didn't eat it. And then the chef tasted the dessert and said it is ok and there is no problem. I understand that in front of other customers they didn't want to accept that the dessert was spoiled. But we were sure because my Tiramisu was not spoiles and we could compare them. But it was a bad feeling that they act like there is some problem with us, not their. And lastly they odd the dessert price from our bill. The other things wast hat during the time we were there the voice of talking waiters together and with the chef was louder than the costumers voice. We asked for more water but the younger waiter forgot. And went back to his conversation with chef. Another time we asked the older waiter who...
