I have to say, the service was incredible and we felt taken care of. However, I felt like the place was quite unclean and that took away from my experience. Above that, the pasta we had was in our opinion the worst one we tried during our trip. When we were waiting for our pasta 2 people from outside came into the kitchen which I considered unsanitary. The meat was cut before previously washing the hands and the pancetta was chewy and very fatty, it seemed halfway done for us compared to other carbonaras we had in Sicily. We took into account that we took the pasta for a takeaway and it might have impacted the taste negatively. Mixed experience. The first time was truly perfect — fresh, tasty dishes, local specialties, and quick, attentive service at more than reasonable prices. That’s why we decided to go back a second time, one morning. We probably had our best meal in Palermo here, in this restaurant which doesn’t pretend anything fancy and just delivers pure homemade Italian recipes. The owners are super friendly and will recommend you what to eat here. We tried their paste but everything looked super tasty. The price is super fair and they won’t charge you service or the bread or anything you don’t ask for, so that very well deserved a tip in my case.
