I saw a couple of negative reviews of this place complaining about the price... I completely disagree, the price is fair, and let me add that I am the first to complain when something is overpriced and have very high expectations for the quality of food!
To put it into perspective, I went to a popular pastry shop in Napoli that was a lot worse than this and with a lot less finesse in the craftsmanship and they charged me 37 euros for six pastries (I was probably conned, because it's Naples and it seems to be the norm there, which is why I didn't like it and I probably will never go back)
Here I ordered four cakes and an espresso and they charged me 18.50 euros which I thought was a very reasonable price considering everything was of such incredible quality. It was heaven on every bite.
Considering that it takes years of experience to reach this level of craftsmanship and many hours each day making these, that price is very fair. Also you can tell they spare no expense in ingredients and the little details, I don't even like coffee and the espresso was nice and when I took stuff for takeaway is carefully packaged in nice boxes. It seems like little details but you can tell they care and adds up.
Hopefully they are able to maintain this level of quality for these reasonable prices. Shame I don't live next to it, I'd be...
Read moreTOURIST TRAP. They will sell you concentrated Orange juice and try to tell you it's fresh oranges. I paid 6 euros for an orange fresh (this is fresh oranges, turned into juice)
An establishment that rips off tourists, and when I came to you asking if it's fresh oranges - you lied to my face, then proceeded to make the orange fresh out of actual oranges because you didn't want to make a scene. Your waiter tried to also lie, and tell me it was fresh orange juice, and you knew it was not orange fresh.
You then comment trying to say that I'm in the wrong because.. some of the juice you serve is not fresh? So you serve juice that isn't fresh and still sell it for 6 euros??? Literally the definition of a tourist trap. you still can't admit that you didn't serve fresh orange juice (Orange fresh, 6 euros, meant to be 100% orange juice) you knew this, and it's why you gave me a second juice for freĐ” that tasted totally different (because you actually used oranges when I had complained)
You deserve 1 star, because you blatantly will rip tourists off and then lie to their face, this is the definition of a tourist trap. You need to do better. You ripped off the wrong tourist. Charge me 12 AUD for a glass of...
Read moreI found this place very hit and miss. I went here on my second day in Palermo and loved it. So much so, after we finished the first my boyfriend rushed back in to get a second before our walking tour. We considered it a great find. On the last evening of our holiday we went out of our way to revisit and finish our trip off with a bang. Unfortunately we were rather let down. We went up to the till and told to sit outside so the waiter could take our order. We did so but the waiter didnât even acknowledge with a hello (or ciao!) and made no eye contact. It seemed a bit standoffish but initially brushed it off as him having a bad day. Both arancini were really rather cold and quite tasteless. Itâs such a shame as we had really held this place in high esteem. This place is on the pricier side of hot drinks/arancini so would have loved it to have been served warmer. The service wasnât as inviting as our first visit and with my Italian not being up to scratch, didnât want the hassle of complaining. Perhaps we were naive on our second day in Palermo. It was a bit gutting to have a disappointing arancini as our last snack of the trip. Iâll give it three stars as a happy medium. Both very...
