It seems like every time you go out to eat in Palermo every dish is the next best thing you ate in your life. This was no exception. We had three different pastas and each was better than the next. Superb. Excellent service to top it off. And just to show how fate intertwines in our daily lives here is a little side story. Our server, Christiano spoke very good english, when we talked to him it turned out that he used to live very close, in world relative terms, to our home in Illinois. What are the odds, that you're half way across the world, walking in a large city, tired and hungry, walk into a place you didn't even know existed 5 min. ago, sit down at a table and meet someone who lived close by to your hometown??? Just awesome 😃 Highly, Highly recommended for excellent food and exemplary service. Christiano is fantastic, and if you're ever nearby, go and eat there. The service was really good – everyone was super nice and friendly. But honestly, the price-performance ratio is disappointing: • €6 for a small, not very tasty panini? • €3 for a tiny cappuccino? • €14 for a chicken salad that was just lettuce and chicken? • €4 for a fresh orange juice? Way too much.

Taste-wise, it was just average. I spent nearly €31 and wasn’t even full. Partly my fault – there’s no visible menu, you choose at the counter. I didn’t ask and fell for that little “party trick.”

The staff is excellent, really. But nice people don’t help much if the food is overpriced and underwhelming. Sadly, it felt like a bit of a scam.

Il servizio è stato davvero buono – tutti molto gentili e accoglienti. Però, onestamente, il rapporto qualità-prezzo lascia a desiderare: • 6 € per un panino piccolo e poco saporito? • 3 € per un cappuccino minuscolo? • 14 € per un’insalata di pollo con solo lattuga e pollo? • 4 € per una spremuta d’arancia? Decisamente troppo.

A livello di gusto: niente di speciale. Ho speso quasi 31 € e non ero nemmeno sazio/a. In parte colpa mia – non c’è un menù esposto, si sceglie direttamente al bancone. Non ho chiesto e sono caduto/a in questo piccolo “trucchetto.”

Le persone sono davvero gentili, niente da dire. Ma purtroppo la simpatia non basta, se il cibo è caro e mediocre. Peccato, sembrava quasi...

After touring the port, we headed for Teatro Missimo. Just before entering the piazza near the Teatro, we stopped by this bar and Bistro. What a great find. The atmosphere is great. The service is excellent and much easier to get served and seated than right at the Teatro Missimo.

The selection of food is varied, and the presentation of canapés super. I am a Negroine fan, and they make an excellent one here.
