Bottiglieria Massimo -Champagneria since 1968 — Restaurant in Palermo

Very disappointing. I can see a lot of nice reviews about wines, cocktails and food, but draft beer are definitely not good, and they are clearly not expert of them. My friend and I lived respectively in Switzerland and in north of France, so we know quite well what a Weiz Beir should taste like, and the one they gave us was not ok. It tasted like a not completely fermented beer, like a barrel not ready yet (it tasted and smell almost like a strong cheese). We expressed our concern, but the waiter said he tried it too and said "it is good". I drank a bit of it just because I was very thirsty. My friend left it all there. 7€ (for two 20cl beers!) completely wasted. So they prefer to have 2 disappointed clients (of which one now living in Palermo) than offer us another beer, maybe from a bottle, and of course that dreadful beer will be sold to other...

So if like us you have been in Italy for the past 10 days, you are probably craving something different than pasta and pizza, and drinks other than Aperol and wine. This place has the greatest selection of Whiskeys, Tequilas, and Gins. Basically hard liquors that non-europeans get drunk with. I have been in this bar many times. It’s a wonderful spot for an aperitif before heading to one of the excellent restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly, helpful and quite delightful. I just wish that they would forget the Champagne thing and showcase the bollicine italiane.
