Dal Pompiere — Restaurant in Palermo

We’ve been to Dal Pompiere Palermo twice now, and each time was absolutely fantastic! The food is delicious — full of authentic flavour, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was a treat, and you can tell there’s real passion behind the cooking.

The service was equally impressive — warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. We felt genuinely cared for both times we visited. To top it all off, we were even treated to a complimentary dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch and a perfect way to end the meal.

We ate there twice here. Aggressive staff try hard to get people to sit at their tables. Once seated, the service is variable. Our first time the restaurant wasn't too busy, the service and food were average food for Palermo. Three stars. The second meal was dinner and we had no problems with the service. This restaurant focuses much of its attention on seating. After that, this same staff does not help the waiters to serve the food correctly. We were promised an outside table and were seated earlier in an area with less service. After ten minutes of inactivity, we were about to leave. They gave us an outside table. The service hasn't improved much. We had medium pizza and a good salad. I told the owner / manager directly about our poor experience, he didn't seem to care. He didn't apologize. He was too busy watching the next "fish" that passed to enter his restaurant. Our worst restaurant experience in three weeks in Italy. Two stars or less.

Ci abbiamo mangiato due volte qui. Il personale aggressivo si sforza di convincere le persone a sedersi ai loro tavoli. Una volta seduti, il servizio è variabile. I was craving cacio e pepe and wasn't having luck on finding a restaurant that had this comfort food on the menu. Walking down a side street, a young man asked if I wanted to eat. Although they don't have cacio e pepe, on the menu the owner granted my wish. In between singing parts of Proud Mary with the sole woman of the establishment, to watching the employees lovingly tease each other like family, and getting "cheek screw" gestures by the chef (a sweet thing that made me happily blush), I had a FANTASTIC last meal in Palermo.
