The best eggplant in tomato sauce ever; the best pasta with eggplant and tomato sauce ever, and a most delicious espresso, on par with the best in Napoli. If delicious food is what you're after, you'll be impressed by how good the food is here at Café de Paris, especially if you're experienced with the local cuisine. Much better than the Café de Paris in Monaco, although the cars here are slightly less clean. The street being a pedestrian area, you'll only hear cars and traffic in the side streets. For Sicily, I'd say this qualifies as "quiet". They also have mafalde (little breads with ingredients like ham and cheese baked inside and sesame on top), potato cakes with ham and cheese, arancini (fried rice balls with ham and cheese) that all look amazing. We also tried one of those ham and cheese sesame breads and it was absolutely delicious as well. Service is family style, personable and friendly. The way this establishment works is this: you go inside and look at the delicious food, choose what you'd like, tell them what you'd like to drink and go sit outside. They'll bring it and you can then order more and when you're done eating and drinking, you go inside and pay. Most highly...
Read moreThis was my first time walking out of a place after receiving the food I ordered. We asked for pasta and some potato dish. The pasta came in a cube shape, you could tell it had been put on the plate streight from a container and then heated up, but it kept the square shape, it was disgusting to see. I don't know how the potato dish tasted because just from seeing the pasta my appetite was gone. I'm surprised it has relatively positive reviews. Later we realised that there was no kitchen once we went in to pay. If there is no kitchen, why offer meals that require one? Stay with coffe, sandwiches and sweet things and avoid...
Read moreI didn't like it. Service wasn't that friendly, starting from the waitress who kept passing by my table without even looking at me. When I ordered a "macchiatone" she brought me a huge coffee and milk-2 completely different things...I asked if that was a mistake and she said it was indeed a macchiatone..so I left it there, but didn't complain thinking it was normal. The croissant was ok nothing crazy. I went to pay and she said i was paying for a "coffee and milk" confirming it wasn't indeed a macchiatone. Better...
