Osteria Lo Bianco sede storica — Restaurant in Palermo

Arrived to an empty restaurant and were told we could only sit outside because inside all tables are reserved. Atmosphere outside was not nice at all. One man, we think the cook, was wearing a dirty pant which didnt properly cover his butt. At this moment we should have reconsidered and leave. We stayed and ordered. Our wish for aperitivo was denied. They said they have none except Cola and other sodas. The neighbouring table surprisingly got some aperitivo (Aperol) served. I assume because they were italians. 1 glas on our table was dirty and was changed. 1 fork was also dirty. First we got whitewine. It had a slight rose colour and tasted flat. We think they gave us a old wine, because it tasted as if it was too long open and started to oxidize. Our ordered starters came. One was definitely cooked in advance and cold, eventough it should have been done freshly in oven so the cheese forms a crust. It was chewy. The other starter should have been (according to the waiter) with artichokes. Instead i got melted cheese in lots of oil and vinegar. Very sour and unpleasant. The owner is incredibly rude and arrogant. He got annoyed when we asked for a table outside, then we approached the cassa to pay after the meal, he did not even acknowledge me, did not even make eye contact when I handed him the cash he just threw the change on the desk (and not in the Italian way, in a rude way if you know what I mean)

The best thing about the restaurant was the waiters, they were incredibly nice and joyful! Even though the food was mediocre at best and they messed our order twice, they kept a great attitude and a smile.

Save your hard earned money and take it somewhere else, the owner looks like an entitled jerk that inherited a restaurant that clearly has no idea how to run! Troppo social / Troppo poco Osteria questo per iniziare per dire che si è perso forse lo spirito dell’Osteria che ho conosciuto in passato. Accesso al locale scandaloso tra il muro, un vano contatore ed il tendone con un bel filo teso pronto ad essere tirato da chi prova ad accedere o uscire. Mi chiedo ma non si accorgono che è davvero osceno ? Vado avanti dicendo che all’ingresso dopo aver verificato la prenotazione ci hanno fatto accomodare, senza neanche accompagnarci al tavolo, vicino al bancone bar mangiando quindi a meno di un metro dal cassone della spazzatura. Abbiamo ordinato dei primi e degli antipasti: i primi davvero buoni con porzioni giuste. Caponata buona, carciofi fritti buoni ma le polpette al sugo davvero no. Praticamente appena ho poggiato la forchetta per tagliarla si è sfaldata tutta, credo di non aver neanche sentito il sapore della carne, un mix credo di pan grattato e formaggio ed altro ma poco, pochissimo, infinitamente poca carne il tutto immerso in un buon sugo. Aggiungo infine due aspetti da non sottovalutare. L’acqua costa 2€ peccato che è acqua del rubinetto che esce dal depuratore in una anonima bottiglia di vetro. Nessuna certificazione nessuna garanzia e sigillo. Non mi sembra il top. Concludo poi con una considerazione sull’aria che ho respirato, ho visto molta sufficienza e leggerezza nell’accoglienza della signora comodamente seduta in attesa che ogni cliente entri a chiedere un tavolo…. “In fondo a destra” oppure “ quel tavolo” per continuare con il personale in sosta dietro al bancone, a 30 cm dal mio tavolo a parlare delle loro cose come se fossimo di famiglia. Non ho percepito attenzione, nessuno ti chiede se ciò che hai mangiato era buono o altro… o il cameriere che viaggiava dalla cucina che tranquillamente a voce sostenuta riferiva alla signora che oggi il cuoco era fuori di testa. Dubito che tutto ciò sia normale, al contrario credo che siano ormai sicuri ed adagiati ad un locale sempre pieno. Prezzi giusti, ovviamente non l’acqua.
