Short version -
Ordered a tomahawk steak, got scammed twice. First plate: just a sirloin steak with a decorative bone – not a tomahawk at all. Second plate: a real tomahawk, but completely overcooked and missing the ribeye cap (the best part) and when I asked for it for takeaway for my friends at home, they only packed up less than half of it. Paid 60 euros, wasted 2 hours, left hungry. This was deliberate dishonesty, not just bad cooking.
Long version -
I ordered the tomahawk steak and it was the single most disappointing and infuriating experience of my life, which I actually paid for.
The first plate was not a tomahawk at all, just a ribeye or sirloin steak with a decorative bone placed next to it and a 200-250% markup in price. That meat was never on that rib, which is obvious from:
the complete crust on the pieces of meat remaining on the bone, which means it was cooked separately
it was served already cut up in slices and off the bone which is never how a tomahawk is served - it esentially looked like a usual sirloin steak with a rib cooked separately and pit there so the price can be a 250% markup.
and the most obvious sign was the steak being significantly thinner, then the bone, which is impossible with a tomahawk, since it’s cut between the ribs, so it’s at least the same thickness at the very least in parts nearer to the rib, but it wasn’t the case
After I pointed this out to the waiter, 3 people from the kitchen showed up, looked at my meat and took it away fast while I didn’t even send it back, I would have ate it, if they billed it as a simple 25 euro steak and not a 60 euro tomahawk, which it was obviously not.
So they took it away and after like 40 minutes I did get my original order, which was indeed a tomahawk on the bone, but this time it was other issues:
it was so overcooked I couldn’t bring myself to eat it, the steak was esentially ruined, I don’t know if on purpose or by mistake, but the other thing is way more infuriating, which is…
THEY CUT OFF THE RIBEYE CAP 😂😂 the tomahawk has two parts which is the latissimus dorsi and the spinalis (ribeye cap) which is the smaller, but tastier, more expesive part - they cut that off and served what was 2/3 of a tomahawk, overcooked and underseasoned…
At that point I was just laughing at it, I paid my 60 EUROES!!! for the worst steak-shakedown of my life and left.
I really have to share this because I cannot let others be scammed out of their money and time. I was there almost 2 hours, got scammed deliberately obviously and left hungry, because at that point I didn’t want to send it back again and wait 40-50 more minutes for another disaster.
When I left, I took it for takeaway, because my friends said to take it and see if we eat it later. In the takeaway box they only packed lass then half of the meat, maybe a third. It was very little meat in the box for 60 euros, even if ruined.
I attached a few pics:
three of the first steak, where you can see the mismach of the bone thickness and the steak thickness throughout
one of the second, ruined, overcooked steak with the MISSING...
Read morebeing seated on the rooftop, it took over 10 minutes for anyone to take our order. They were out of white rum for a mojito, so I switched to a Coke — which didn’t arrive until 30 minutes later, and even then, it came with lime instead of lemon.
The food service was disorganized: our main (carbonara) arrived before the starters, and it was lukewarm. The fries were average, though the mussel soup was the only dish we truly enjoyed. Meanwhile, we waited over an hour and a half for a steak that never came. When we asked to cancel it, the waiter argued and even brought it out after we had already refused it twice. To make matters worse, they still tried to charge us €27 for the dish we never received, and it took another server to finally correct the bill.
The whole meal cost €72, and aside from the mussel soup, nothing was worth it. Service was slow, unprofessional, and argumentative. We also noticed several other tables leaving after being ignored. Overall, bad food, worse service, and not a place I’d recommend to anyone —...
Read moreThe atmosphere was quite good, very comfy interior. It was not busy at all, but still they couldn’t manage to keep an eye on the pigeons to not come into the closed areas, so they were flying over our food - we stopped eating at this point because of all the dirt flying around after the pigeons flew around. Very disgusting… the waiter was literally standing next to it and was laughing. Also they cleaned the table with the same cloth as they cleaned the dirty seats and wall with… i dont know bc the cutlery was placed directly on the table without a napkin between. We also wanted to wait a bit before we order and the manager (i guess) walked by on purpose 3 times to kinda pressure us into ordering (we’re planning to eat anyways) in total i wouldn’t recommend going there. The pizza was below average. And on top we paid 3€ coperto per person. It was 1/3 of our complete bill… This was the highest so far in...
