We have chosen this in accordance to reviews as our last dinner in Palermo. I will start with positives : it is nice place in quiet area, our accommodation was close to very busy street so we wanted enjoy smth calmer for last evening. It is modern small restaurant with different products which you can buy as well. And now the negative - food. We came 1 hour before closure and they were closing even though we made reservation half an hour before and it was confirmed. We ordered starter and main dish - always do that while I do not eat that much. We wanted aperol spritz but the person responsible for drinks has left already so we ended up with lemonades. Both meals were microwaved - we were able to hear beeping of the microwave from the dining area. Starter (sweet-sour pumpkin with mint) was still cold and without mint. The second dish (gnocchi wit duck ragú and pecorino) were over cooked or due to re-heating of them they were too smashy. Duck ragú was OK but nothing special. They had wery nice croutons. But we would not recommend this place while the quality might...
Read moreEye opening experience. Everything here was fresh and delicious. This was my first encounter with the Sicilian staple of Busiate al pesto trapanese; after my first bite I began to seriously consider if my worldly possessions and the relationships I had entangled myself in were sufficient to stop me from moving next door to this restaurant. It didn’t end there, however. Foods that I’d tasted before, even in other parts of Italy were rediscovered. The caprese may as well have been called something else entirely, because every prior ex-caprese could only wish to have been half as delectable. The mozzarella was so creamy, the rocket so tangy, that I greedily consumed a giant platter all of my own. My friends tell me that I made gollum-like noises when they begged to try a small sliver of prosciutto. I can’t confirm or deny this, as everything post my first bite of the Busiate was a bit of a blur. PS apricot beer is apparently a thing...
Read moreWe just ate our way through Palermo and Naples and this was our favorite restaurant (even compared to Michelin starred places, which cost 4x as much)! We tried 2 pasta dishes, caponata, and cannoli, and they were all fabulous. I am really picky about food, flavor profiles and seasoning, and these dishes blew me away. It is clear that they take a lot of care with the dishes despite being such a small establishment. I also really liked how many dishes were vegan/vegetarian, if that's your preference. On top of that, the service - from the one guy who seemed to be handling everything - was excellent. We would go back to Palermo just to...
