Bel Grano Focaccia — Restaurant in Parma

A absolute gem in the heart of Parma. Been here 3 times since moving to Parma and will always come back.

The food: The Focaccias are a dream. They get freshly prepared with high quality ingredients that you can taste. All three Focaccias I ate here were delicious and I'm convinced that you can't make a wrong choice here.

The atmosphere: The store is really small, but offers a small sitting area outside, which is just fine for a small snack. But I have to point out the stuff. They are always very kind and also patient to practice Italian with me. No rush when I try to order in my lousy Italian.

Food...

We arrived late on a Sunday and Parma was essentially closed, saved for Bel Grano Focaccia. What a fortunate find. The food was fantastic and the team there (Nick and Joanna - sp?) were friendly and helpful. In the U.S., this kind of “fast casual” place is rarely this excellent. The most incredibly welcoming chef. He is like an artist carefully curating each focaccia, allowing wide latitude in your choices (“no pressure!”) and then weighing up how the ingredients combine to guide you away gently. Lovely sauces/crema, warm service and the best focaccia ever. Don’t miss this gem if in the center of Parma.
