Panino d'Artista — Restaurant in Parma

Our experience at this restaurant was deeply disappointing. We were not presented with a menu (we were told that the kitchen was closed) which immediately felt off. We ordered a charcuterie board and a lasagna, and what arrived was clearly a very high-priced selection, without any prior indication. We were also shocked by the significant additional charge for the cheese which we thought would be included. We left feeling like we were overcharged, and its concerning that the pricing wasn't transparent from the start. We never got the lasagna and were charged for it, which was taken off the bill. We also learned that there were cheaper charcuterie board options to choose from but we were just brought a $62.00 board! We each had one drink, and there was a $10 cover charge, so total cost was $102.50 after the lasagna was taken off. Travelers should be cautious and ensure they understand the costs before ordering. The waiter acted like he was our friend and doing us a favor when in fact he brought us a very high priced item without informing us. Really felt cheated and will never go back again. Lesson learned. ...

So me and my wife went to this place yesterday for the first time as a tourist. We found this place randomly and I wish I have the reviews on here about their behavior towards non-italian customers. Everything was good until they brought the appetizers that we ordered, after putting the drinks down the waiter just stand next to our table and asked for the payment. We were confused because it was really strange and it has never happened to us before. so when we were leaving we asked for the cause of that behavior and he literally said it is because people in the past came here, eat the appetizers and leave without paying and every bar is doing this, but for the 1 hour that we were there, we didn't see this behavior towards other customers which were italian (all of them also just ordered appetizers, cause he was claiming others are ordering dinner so we don't ask for money right away at the table😐). So in the end I think it was the colour of my skin which made them think that I may run away...

This is an excellent restaurant. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We also got an explanation of the various cheeses and cold cuts we ordered, along with a recommendation of what cheese to eat last.

The venue has a lot of charm and warmth. Very nice.

We ordered a combination of cheeses and cold cuts.

Simply put, it was the best cheeses and cold cuts I have ever experienced. Each bite of cheese or meat has an extremely long finish. The finish lingers what seems to be forever. This a first for me. I am transported to a heavenly culinary realm.

I can spend more than a minute just enjoying and savoring each bite of cheese and or meat.

Then there is a mustard jelly (mostarda) that pairs extremely well with the cheese.. adding another dimension.

Let's not forget the fried bread that pairs with the cold cuts. Superb!

All in all a super culinary experience.

I will go back to Parma just to have this experience.
