Gallo d'Oro Delivers Tradition with Elegance Nestled in a quiet side street just off the bustling nightlife of Parma, Gallo d'Oro is offering a true Emilian cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the warm, intimate atmosphere sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. We began with the prosciutti misti and parmigiani misti—a plate that felt like a love letter to Parma itself. The selection of cured hams was impeccable, each slice melting on the tongue with rich, savory depth. Paired with aged Parmigiano Reggiano in varying maturations, it was a masterclass in texture and flavor. The Pappardelle al ragù was rustic perfection: wide ribbons of fresh pasta generously coated in a slow-cooked meat sauce that was both hearty and refined. Every bite spoke of tradition and care. As main course, the tris di Tortellino, a trio of stuffed pasta, each with its own distinct filling and sauce, offering a playful yet sophisticated tour of regional flavors. It was the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-conversation just to savor the moment. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the wine list offered excellent local pairings. Our dog Toffee spend a great moment too. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or simply looking to taste the soul of Parma, Gallo d'Oro is a must-visit.

A Five-Star Gourmet Experience at Gallo d’Oro This was our second visit to Gallo d’Oro in Parma — and once again, it was a flawless, five-star experience. We returned after a memorable meal last year, and this time was just as impressive. We chose both the starter and the pasta dishes from their gourmet menu. The marinated eggplant with stracciatella and tomato confit was a creative and flavorful entrée. For the primi, we had the parmesan-filled ravioli with tryffel and the spaghetti with anchovy, tarallo crumbs, and spicy tomato — both outstanding in taste and presentation. To finish, we shared a wonderfully creamy tiramisu — so delicious that we truly wished it had been twice the size! The service was warm and efficient, the ambience elegant yet comfortable, and the pricing very reasonable: €76 for three courses, plus a dessert, coffee, and two glasses of excellent red wine. We strongly recommend Gallo d’Oro to anyone visiting Parma. It’s a place where the passion for local flavors, gourmet creativity, and great hospitality come together beautifully. A reservation is a good idea — this place fills up quickly!

The location of this place is great: super central, in a small quiet road just beside a main street. We found a table in the veranda. Normally we would have been concerned considering the less than ideal weather but it was actually enjoyable, even if we were super close to the entrance we're all the wet umbrellas were left. Food was very inconsistent as it had high highs and low lows. The wine was fantastic. The "gnocco fritto" really extremely tasty. We expected neither of these 2 things to impress us. What we were looking for were charcuterie and "cappelletti in brodo di cappone" and I found both disappointing. The charcuterie wasn't particularly tasty and actually, one seemed almost not particularly fresh. The broth of the cappelletti had barely any taste (and sure, that can be due to personal preference) but it was not warm at all, like it had stayed there waiting too long before they served us. In general I recall having to wait quite a bit between the starter and the main.

We went there with excitement and hope. Waited for 40 minutes for our orders and all we got was the wine and bread. After asking for the food twice, we decided to leave and they asked for the money of the wine that we didn’t even drink(not even a glass for both) and the coperto for 2. They also added that it has been only 28 MINUTES(while the tables next to us already ate their starters, first dishes and secondary dishes, some of them are already enjoying their desserts). A waiter came and told that there is a problem with the printer and he knows that we were waiting for the last 40 minutes and he was so sorry(he was not even out waiter and he was extremely kind and nice). I told that I can pay the half of the money for the wine that we didn’t even drink and all they did was to do 50 cents of discount. After the disrespect, the manager(I guess) yelled at us madly(even we are the ones that waited for 40 minutes) and we left the place. ARROGANT AND AGGRESSIVE. There are lots of beautiful places to eat in Parma but this is...
