La Fonte — Restaurant in Perledo

We arrived as a family of 4 and took one of the tables available, after 10 minutes we went inside to say do we order drinks inside, the young girl said ‘this is why you should make a reservation you have to wait’ My husband then wanted to leave as it’s the only bad service we have had around lake como. She then went to clear a table where people had left (even though nobody was waiting and it’s wasn’t reserved) so she could have politely taken our drinks order. After waiting she came over took our order, we noticed she didn’t bring us a bread basket like everybody else, was this because we didn’t reserve a table? Because several people who hadn’t reserved arrived after us. We also saw a group of 6 women ask if they had a table, she rudely said No. they were about to turn around and the other lady came out and said no sit down and put a table together. Valentina and staff were wonderful and very kind. The food is absolutely incredible. We went several times for dinner and we were always impressed. Try the lasagna at least once. We also had a quick breakfast several mornings (croissant with homemade jam, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a coffee/latte). I even got a burger one day with fries and it was better than almost any burger place in the US. They also have a great house wine. You cannot go wrong here. Do yourself and go here.

FYI: It is recommended to make reservations for dinner. You can call and make them.

We cannot recommend this place more and we were so lucky to have the restaurant right next door to where we were staying in Perledo.

Definitely a must try If you are in the area of Perledo where you will be welcomed by a warm authentic atmosphere with passionate owners ready to share with you their joy of creating delicious dishes.

We had the risotto and seafood penne and both provided us with flavours that were true to the dish with slight twists and personal touches to make you have another spoon more.

We were also introduced to the house wine which we enjoyed so much the first night we came back and ordered another litre, so we could take home to enjoy it after dinner.
