TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE- BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH YOUR BELONGINGS HERE!

My sister and I visited this place during a day trip to Varenna. We had a small shopping bag and stopped at this bar near the train station for coffee while waiting for our train. Unfortunately, we accidentally left the bag under the table. We realized it within two minutes and returned immediately, but the bag was already gone.

We asked the staff if they had seen or found a bag—they all denied it. Then we asked nearby customers, and one clearly told us that a female staff member had taken the bag. When we returned and confronted the staff again, they insisted they had only found a black bag. However, our bag was light grey-beige, not black.

Only when we said we would call the police did one of the staff members take our bag out from under the counter. It had been there the entire time, but they refused to show it to us simply because we had described the color as beige, and they insisted it was grey—even though they had initially claimed they only had a black one.

This was not an honest or transparent interaction. The staff's behavior raised serious concerns. I strongly warn others to be extremely cautious with their personal items here. Based on our experience, we had serious doubts about how honestly and transparently the situation...

I accidentally left my carton bag on the table and returned just two minutes later. A customer at the next table told me they saw the waitress take it and even pointed her out to us, but when I asked the staff, they denied having seen any bag. I described it clearly as a beige carton bag, but they claimed the only forgotten item was a black carton bag.

After I insisted and mentioned that I would call the police, the situation suddenly changed — they “found” my bag behind the counter. When handing it back, the waitress tried to excuse everything by saying, “It’s not beige, it’s light grey,” which was completely absurd.

To make matters worse, the owner — who had been sitting in the customer area inside the bar — got up and started walking toward us aggressively. She made a dismissive head gesture, as if telling the staff to just hand over the bag, and then started yelling at us, calling us “uneducated.” The level of disrespect and unprofessionalism was unbelievable.

I strongly warn others: keep a close eye on your belongings in this place. The staff — and even the owner — showed absolutely...

Don’t recommend at all - overpriced, bad service, hairs in food.

I ordered a hot milk which was overpriced and the service was really bad - the short haired woman had a bad attitude from the beginning and then it got worse. The milk was barely hot and we asked her to make I hotter. She put another cap on the cup and we I opened it, it had various hairs and small black stains. Me and my friend decided to confront them about it so they would apologize or re-do it, but the two workers got defensive, especially the short haired woman. They started to say it was impossible it was theirs despite them both having hair that matched the one found in the cup instead of just taking the blame and apologizing, they just stood there, didn’t even bother making a new one or saying sorry. We started to say it was their fault and they have to do something about it and apologize and the worker rolled her eyes, sighed and reluctantly grabbed a cup and filled it with hot milk - just the amount I had left of milk, not a full cup and looked at us.
