Such lovely, cosy restaurant where we enjoyed delicious authentic food, a street yet cosy atmosphere outside on the street with tables covered in Vichy tablecloths giving the place an authentic Italian vibe. The staff was helpful, communicative, polite and fluent in English – we were seated by a gentleman and a lady, who took care of us during our stay. They provided their best recommendations on the main course and desserts as well. It was busy around lunch time, and we were taken good care despite all of that, which we appreciated.

While waiting on the queue we managed to see beautiful plates and cheerful people who seemed to be enjoying their meals, so we could not wait to order. We had the pappardelle al cignhiale (thick pasta with wild boar meat in tomato sauce) and the grigliata Toscana (selection of traditional Tuscany grilled meats and a side of beans with garlic). The pasta dish was extremely delicious and rich in tomato sauce, and the grilled meat was juicy. Both portions were super generous to feed us! We as well enjoyed homemade tiramisu and a couple of Moretti beers. The pricing was reasonable/even cheaper than most places (considering it’s on the main street).

I strongly recommend because of the location, service, delicious food, pricing and atmosphere. Thank you for having us, we hope to...

If there were "zero stars", I would surely choose it, especially for the service.

Firstly, my husband had to wait for 10 mins for coca-cola, another 10 mins for my Latte, and another 30 mins for our dishes, but none of the staff didn't really care about it and nothing was offered (like snacks or bread) during the wait. Of course, no apologies at all!

In addition, the old male staff was really rude and annoying.

We understand that they were busy because of Easter holidays and that they did not have enough cooks, but they should have told us that prep would take longer than usual.

They should also have informed us that they could not serve pizza in advance (so that we would definitely have gone somewhere else to eat).

We ordered Peperoncino pasta, which was too oily and did not have much taste, and Pesto, which did not have enough basil taste in it. The portion was not enough either, and were not warm at all though we waited for 50 mins.

The cup was stained with lipstick.

There was nothing special really. Go...

Food was tasty but not exceptional. We had a fruit do mare pizza that had 5 muscles with very good taste but then 4 small shrimps and that was it, the rest was a simple margarita pizza. My wife had spaghetti carbonara that was acceptable but not a lot of egg and a few notches below another we had recently elsewhere. Service was ok with some wait to get attention from the waiters although a few stranded at the door looking around but not answering to requests. Payment was also a little funny: we tried to get the attention from the waiters to ask the deseart menu for about 20 minutes then gave up and stranded to try to go pay inside to be told in a strong tone that we had to wait for the bill at the outside table. Ok we went back to the table for another 5 minutes and the bill came. We asked to pay by card and immediately told "oh, by card has to be inside" 😂🤔. The environment was a bit noisy in a small road with constant people interrupting our meal to try to sell us things or noise from soroundings. Overall an...

If you want to waste your money and have the most terrible experience in Italy, go there! Initially we wanted to go to the place beside this restaurant which had a much better review, but it was closed and they stopped us and told us that the next door restaurant was more like fast food anyways. So we decided to check this place out. My fiancé’s food was too salty to eat and the sauce was watery (see picture)! My food wasn’t great by italy standards but the appetizer was alright. The part that caused me to submit a review: In the end when we were paying, the owner who didnt speak great english took his time to muddle through english to racially discriminate against the next door place saying they used microwaves to preheat food and there was only one door, and that because they were of asian decent and had immigrated to italy that there food is not authentic and no good and never could be and that his was better. We’ve spent 9 days across 5 cities in italy and my fiancé said this was the worst food he’s had.

They had the second best food I have ever ate and the best I have ever had in Europe. The wild boar in particular was sinfully good. I found myself making strange sounds of joy while I was eating it. The texture was absolutely perfect, it fell apart in my mouth, the flavor of the meat and sauce was both complex and approachable. A perfect blend of seasonings and fresh high quality meat. My fiancée had a fantastic vegetable soup and pasta. The service was also great. To top it all off the prices were beyond reasonable. Including drinks the meal was less than 66€ or about 1/3 what I would expect to pay back home in California for a similar meal. Our tiramisu was also fantastic, amazing texture and just the right amount of sweetness. Our waitress Beatrice was super nice and spoke great English.

Best food of my life! I live in Liverpool and whenever I manage to go to Pisa, I always eat at Il Capodaglio! Even my last time I made a point of having all my meals there, I know I'm never disappointed! What an experience, one day I will even live in Pisa so I can eat there many times a week! Whenever I can I take my friends and family to eat too, best pomodoro pasta ever and the garlic bread is unforgettable! The employees and owners are also great, always friendly, with a smile on their face and open if you want to chat (and super nice if you don't) and even serving a lot of people, they always remember you. The house wine is also great. It's the kind of restaurant I call a treasure, really a find that makes Pisa even better!
