I recently visited a bar located on the point of Portofino, and my experience was a mix of positive and negative aspects. I opted for an Italian toasty, the name of the bread escapes me, topped with rather salty anchovies and tomatoes. Regrettably, the dish was not to my liking, leaving much to be desired.

The tequila sunrise cocktail I ordered was passable, although it was evident that cheaper alcohol had been used. The waiter who attended to us proved to be incredibly rude, which put a damper on our overall experience.

Nevertheless, there were redeeming factors to the visit. I had the pleasure of striking up a delightful conversation with some fellow Germans, which was a highlight of the evening. The view from the bar was nothing short of stunning, providing a picturesque backdrop to the evening.

However, the prevalence of people smoking was a notable downside, detracting from the overall ambiance. As for the music, it was decent but didn't necessarily stand out.

On a positive note, my partner's choice of a mozzarella toasty instead of the fish option was deemed okay, while her drink was exceptional.

In terms of cost, the evening set us back around €50, which was somewhat reflective of the overall experience. Despite the drawbacks, the engaging conversation and breathtaking view did contribute to a more positive memory.

In conclusion, the bar offered a mix of elements - from disappointing dishes and rude service to memorable interactions and scenic views. While it may not have been the ideal dining experience, it still left room for some...

That is an absolutely amazing hidden spot , it is so far away that when you're walking up on the mountain you're almost ready to give up BUT the walk is worth every single step. La Portofinese is a hidden little bar in the mountain rock, were they serve authentic drinks made with their grown lemons. We had Limoncello spritz and beer that taste like lemon. The serves Cid I believe, was absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive. We had the most beautiful experience. There are no words to describe the feeling and the experience. So worth...

We visited on a Wednesday and had a really nice time. A bit hidden away from the touristic area the lounge is located and ready to serve some delicious drinks with a great view guaranteed. We had a cold chocolate and a Virgin Mojito. The Mojito was good but mostly made out of ice-cubes, leaving me wanting more. However, we did get olives, chips and nuts to go with it which kinda made up for it. In general it’s a nice romantic place and definitely worth a visit! Kinda bad...

🇮🇹 10 things to do in Portofino ⬇️ Italy⁣ ⁣ 🍹 Drinks with a view at Al Faro Bar⁣ 💦 Take a swim at Portofino’s iconic beach, Baia Cannone. I’ve made a video with instructions on how to get there in my Italy guides.⁣ 🍦 Eat the best ice cream from Gelateria Gepi ⁣ 👟 Stroll along the scene “Walk of Kisses” path from Paraggi to Portofino (approx 2km/25 min walk)⁣ 🏰 Hike to Castello Brown for the best views of Portofino (entrance fee is 5€)⁣ 🍝 Lunch at @belmondsplendidomare Note: you don’t have to stay at the hotel to make a lunch reservation at their restaurant, and trust me the food & views are worth it!⁣ 🎭 Check out the unusual sculptures at Museo del Parco. ⁣ 🍳 Breakfast at the historic Caffè Excelsior.⁣ ☕️ Enjoy an espresso in La Piazzetta and admire the yachts in the marina.⁣ ⛪️ Marvel at the Church of San Martino.⁣ 🍽️ Dinner at Ö Magazín.⁣ ⁣ You’ll only need one day in Portofino to do & see all the best bits, and trust me if you stay any longer you’ll likely send yourself broke. You can do Portofino on a budget however, swim at the beach for free, pack a supermarket lunch and you can easily spend less than 10€ with entrance to Castello Brown and a cheeky gelato to cool yourself down in the summer months.⁣ ⁣ How to get there? From within Italy, the most affordable way to get to Portofino is to catch a train to Santa Margherita Ligure station and from here there is a 3€ bus (line 782) that’ll take you to Portofino. We did a day trip to Portofino from Cinque Terre and it’s also an easy train journey from Genoa. Day trips from Milan and Florence to Portofino are also possible but be sure to plan your journey in advance (I use rome2rio and trainline) as trains are less frequent.⁣ ⁣ To see more of my Italy guides, visit my blog kelseyinlondon.com 🇮🇹 ⁣ ⁣ Portofino Restaurants | Portofino Guide | ⁣ ⁣ #portofino #liguria #portofinoitaly #italytravel #ilikeitaly #visititaly #italiait #italylovers #italytravel #italyiloveyou #italytrip #italygram #italy_vacations #italytourism #italy🇮🇹 #italy❤️ #travelitaly #loveitaly #europetrip #europe_vacations #europetravel #europedestinations #europetravels #uktravelblogger #cinqueterre #travelguide
