Head up the hill to the restaurants at the Splendido for better food, better views and much better service at the same price point.

The pesto Trofie was quite good, unfortunately the rest of the food was mediocre at best. However, the real issue was the service. We were the first table seated for dinner upon their opening at 7:30. We were seated between two other parties of two people, and both tables were downright nasty to the waitstaff from the get-go. Incredibly, the response from the staff was seemingly to roll out the red carpet for these tables whilst completely ignoring us. By the third attempt to flag a waiter down to order our food as they dutifully answered every beck and call and tongue-lashing from our neighbors, these tables had received multiple courses (and sent some back with complaints) and were being lavished with free desserts.

The takeaway? I suppose by providing the staff with one-star treatment and maybe you, too, will receive five-star...

This restaurant is truly mind-blowing. The food was amazing. For starters, we had the seafood mix which was very tasty and then for the main course we had the “Homemade Green Tagliolini”, the “Pacchero alla Vittorio Dav” (which was the best pasta in the menu in my opinion), 2 portions of the “Gran Fritto Misto” and for dessert we had 2 portions of the “Tiramisu” (one of the best I have ever eaten). They were all just amazing. The waiters were also very nice, presenting to us every detail of what we ordered and recommended us certain wines. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing as the music and the scenery around us was very beautiful. They gave us 2 complimentary appetizers and 3 complimentary desserts, which I thought was so nice. The one I liked most was the “Pannetone” at the end. It was so flavourful. Although it was expensive, the food is definitely worth it. I’d say this restaurant is a must-try here...
