I would never recommend this place to anyone. Firstly, they were very rude and inattentive despite having relatively few guests. They rushed us through our menu choices, and our waitress seemed uninterested, indifferent, and generally confused. When the food arrived, they had placed all our portions on one plate, and the waitress asked if we could transfer the food to our own plates ourselves. She was careless, spilling on the table, and seemed to disregard the experience entirely.

We received an extremely small amount of food, so little that we had to eat at another restaurant afterwards. Given that they placed all three portions on one plate, we suspect that we actually received two portions that we had to share between us. Keep in mind that we are three young girls who typically don't eat very large portions, but we were very hungry when we left. The food was subpar. The pasta was undercooked and bland. I've traveled all around Italy and never had such bad food.

When the bill arrived, we noticed that we were being charged for the bread you get on the table. It's standard in Italy and not a problem for us, but we didn't receive any bread. We then saw that all the other tables had bread and pointed this out, asking them to remove it from the bill. Instead, they started shouting at us and told us it was their mistake, but we still had to pay for it. We're talking about €15, so it's not a huge amount, but not an insignificant one either. We mentioned that we didn't want to pay for something we didn't receive, and that the waitress admitted she forgot to give us the bread. The owner continued shouting at us, saying we can stay in the restaurant until we decide to pay the full amount - and left us. They don't speak English, and the entire conversation was translated by the waitress. The owner was incredibly rude and forced us to pay for the bread, even though we eventually offered to meet halfway and pay half the amount so we could leave. She literally yelled at us and eventually made us pay the full amount. I don’t mind spending money on good food, and paying extra for good service. However, it's unacceptable that I should have to pay for a service I haven't received, especially when the waitress admitted that she didn't provide it. It's unacceptable to be scolded by a restaurant owner when addressing such an issue. We didn't even mention the unsavory food and poor service; all we requested was not to pay for the bread we didn't receive.

I do not recommend this...

Our worst dinner in Italy for the past 5 visits. Was recommended the restaurant by a friend. Maybe this spot was good in its heyday, but that is far behind them now. We had the first seating for dinner. I feel this detail is necessary to explain that there is no reason for things to be on a menu but not available to order: The lobster AND the seabass were unavailable. Mind you, this menu is small, so what do you do? All that was left to choose from were prawns and octopus. We ordered both the prawn risotto and the prawn scampi. Not only did we have to open each prawn (not ok for €23 and €37), but the prawns were COATED in oil from the scampi sauce (fine if you’re eating deshelled shrimp) AND were TINY. They weren’t prawns, they were baby shrimp. We paid €139 for a dinner that was embarrassing (to a chef, but I assume a child was cooking) and disappointing (to the guests). A fellow couple sat down next to us, looked at the menu, heard what was available, and left; I wish we took their lead. What a waste. I had to use the restroom, and there was no soap and the toilet wouldn’t flush. Lame place living off reviews from years...

Avoid at all costs Horrible customer service. We (3pax) came to the restaurant and sat in the terrace. All reviews suggested trying out the risotto and that was our sole reason for visit. When handing out the menus, none of the waiters informed us about the missing dishes. When we found out the risottos were unavailable, we started thinking about alternative foods. after some consideration, we decided to just stay for wine& entrees and then go someplace else. Once the waiter heard it, he started to yell at us that we wasted his time and screamed “Ciao! ciao!” And took away our menus. Pushed my friend against the chair and made us feel embarresed. NO CLIENT SHOULD FEEL THIS WAY!! even if we decide not to stay for the main dish and pay for the drinks& entrees. That is absoluetly client’s right to decide how many meals he/she wishes to have. Especially if there were only 3 tables busy at the terrace. Horrible and...

We found this charming looking restaurant whilst dealing with the thongs of tourists in portifino. The food was ok at best but a miserable owner serving no smile you could feel him thinking bloody tourists. So my wife needed the loo the owner said there's toilets in the square. So a first for me a restaurant with no loo? It turned out that if you were Italian as the girl on another table was allowed to use the toilet. Then it took 45mins to organise our bill. We were obviously not wanted other than for our money. The shame is it will not matter as there are endless tourists but I just wanted to share my experience DON'T USE THIS RESTAURANT!

After two weeks of amazing Italian food and service we were waiting for the first occasion that showed the opposite and here it was. Overpriced, small portions (especially the spaghetti with clams), and slow service. Of course it's Italy so you'll never have bad food: it is tasty. Not recommended but do keep in mind that this is a place with many tourist. It also was a bad night because several people were complaining.

A hidden gem in Portofino. Don’t waste your money at the overrated seaside restaurants. The service, food, ambiance are just perfect. If you want king prawns go there. The sauce they cook them is heavenly! The octopus is the best I’ve eaten in the last three tears. They bring limoncello andsome other liquor after dinner on house. The owner is there all the time. Checking, greeting, serving
