Nestled in the heart of Positano, Ristorante Donna Rosa is a true gem that offers more than just a meal—it provides an unforgettable dining experience that embodies the warmth and charm of Italian family tradition. This enchanting restaurant is not only a testament to exquisite culinary artistry but also a beacon of heartfelt hospitality.

A Family Affair

Donna Rosa is a family-run establishment, where the essence of home and family is palpable in every corner. The restaurant is helmed by two dedicated sisters, with their parents still actively involved in welcoming and serving guests. This close-knit family atmosphere infuses the entire experience with an authentic, homey feel that is rare to find.

Impeccable Service

The service at Donna Rosa is impeccable, characterized by kindness and genuine care. Our host, Rosita, exemplified this with her extraordinary hospitality. She went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was perfect, even gifting us a delightful dessert that added a special touch to our visit. The attention to detail in both the service and the presentation of the food was superb.

Culinary Excellence

The food at Donna Rosa is nothing short of incredible. Every dish is a testament to the family's dedication to culinary excellence and their passion for using fresh, local ingredients. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, making every bite a celebration of Italian cuisine. As a traveling company owner and a devoted foodie, I can confidently say that Donna Rosa stands out as a culinary treasure in Positano.

Ambiance and Atmosphere

The ambiance of the restaurant is both beautiful and inviting, with a rustic charm that complements the stunning backdrop of Positano. The decor is thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home while still offering a touch of elegance that enhances the overall dining experience.

Wine Selection

Donna Rosa also boasts an impressive wine selection, carefully curated to complement their menu. The wine recommendation we received was excellent, perfectly pairing with our meal and elevating the dining experience to new heights.

Conclusion

Dining at Ristorante Donna Rosa is more than just enjoying a meal; it's about being welcomed into a family, savoring the essence of Italian hospitality, and experiencing culinary magic in a stunning setting. Whether you're a local or a traveler, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and heartwarming dining experience...

You have to go here. The food alone is worth it 10 fold not to mention the most beautiful people work here. They are so so sweet. Food We had the lavender scallops (best scallop I’ve ever had and it actually smells like lavender- unbelievable). The scallops have a heavenly tender and light lavender taste with a little bit of lemon. Basil/pesto pasta- I was so so torn between ordering the truffle pasta and the basil pasta and the owner said her favorite is the basil pesto so we chose that one. Omg I don’t even like pesto that much and I would order this every night. It’s so light and smooth nothing over powering but yet so so flavorful. The pasta is also delicious on its own. Sea bass- if you like fish get this it’s amazing. Everything is so tender. I love the nuts, olives, and capers on top. If I had to do it again I would still order the sea bass and chicken because all the flavors were so different and unique. My husband said he would order two chickens just for himself haha. Chicken- fall off the bone tender. Would please anyone. If you have a picky eater get them this it’s just so so good. Pana cotta- you HAVE TO order this. It is so light and just amazing. Such a delicious vanilla taste. We could have eaten 5 of them easily. Tiramisu- again phenomenal I think it’s really rare to go out to dinner and have every dish taste so wonderful from beginning to end- but they did it. The setting is nice too- very romantic. Soft Italian music plays in the background, the kitchen is gorgeous, and you can easily talk to your friends and partners. Service is top notch. The people here are so warm and friendly. 5/5 stars...

Wow - this place truly is worth the trip to the top of Montepertuso. While quite a hike away from the center of Positano, I highly suggest you make the trip as your experience and meal at Donna Rosa will be vastly difference than any dining experience you will have in the center of Positano. In fact, this is the only restaurant we've ever eaten at in Italy where the kitchen is open and the staff encourages you to watch the cooking while it's happening. There is something special about eating at a family run establishment in the heart of the Amalfi Coast. Our server's mother and sister were cooking in the kitchen, her father was serving the wine, her uncle was helping out as needed as well, it felt like we were part of the family for dining at one of the few tables that this restaurant has. I cannot finish this review without mentioning the food of course. We have been back in America for a week now and my family is still raving about Donna Rosa's meatballs. They were the best meatballs we will probably ever have. Every dish was incredible, from the focaccia bread at the beginning of the meal to the cannoli at the end of the meal. I highly recommend a visit to Donna Rosa during a trip to the...
