The location of this pad is literally behind the Santa Maria church, which was probably the best location I could imagine of. It's secluded and yet not, not too near and not far at all from the beach. It's about 200 - 250m away from the drop off point from any car/taxi/bus and it's downhill (that means when you go to the pick up points, it's uphill). Loads of things to see, I did feel safe around that area and finally about the Villa - my room assigned was beautifoooool! The scenery that greeted us every morning is on another echelon! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped with anything you might need, inc. hair dryer. There was a wardrobe for you to hang up your long clothes, a little quaint table to inspire some writing, and one thing I liked doing was opening the doors and window to the balcony, it's almost like indoor/outdoor living for us. We managed to take our short afternoon siestas every afternoon. Whenever, we come back each day, the room was clean and fresh. Thank you to the housekeeping team who did a fabulous well appreciate job of it. |Breakfast was served next to the smallest lobby ever. It was even served from the smallest kitchenette ever, BUT everything served was delicious, delightful and delectable. My favourite was the few options of ham, and the cappuccino by Ms. Maria, what a pickup for the day! Thank you. We love her, skating around the space gently and swiftly, in her lovely attire and make-up. Her smile just warmed up the space with the soft gentle voice saying "prego" all the time. There was another gentleman who handled the front desk and the kitchen, now I remembered the omelette he made was also very delicious! Finally, it's Alfonso, who literally welcomed us with opened arms. He really made sure that we have everything we needed and were able to converse very well in English. That certain eased us off a little, what a hero he is when he told us about a nearby grocery store!|Oh, I could go on and on – but I think I can’t write more because my heart is still there! Will definitely plan to go back to...

Villa La Tartana Positano

Outstanding is the word we would use to describe our 6 nights at this lovely Hotel. And this is why: The location is perfect. The rooms are clean and comfortable with amazing views. The front desk is attended 24 hours a day. Breakfast is served in a beautiful room where coffee is offered along with freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything works…..which is often not the case…..Including very fast internet. Beach towels are offered and the rooms are cleaned daily. But what adds to Villa La Tartana’s already great attributes are the people. Every staff member we met was helpful and friendly. During our stay we generally saw and interacted mostly with Maria and Alfonso. Maria is kind and friendly. She served breakfast…..and nothing was too much trouble. Our Italian was worse that Maria’s English. But we tried to use what Italian we could and Maria was keen to understand and encouraged us to try to communicate with our limited language efforts. Alfonso is a complete Gentleman. He is efficient and competent at his job. But more that that he is very approachable and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. And each time he sees you he is genuinely interested in how you are, what your days intentions are …and if he can help, and that you are enjoying the Hotel and what Positano has to offer. We would highly recommend this lovely Hotel and thank the terrific staff for a very enjoyable...

We chose this hotel because of its location. It’s just off the main road so there isn’t a ton of foot traffic outside your window but it is easy to get everywhere you want. This hotel is very close to the beach so if you’re a beach bum, it is awesome. They supply beach towels as well. You can arrive by ferry and take a short walk up or arrive by taxi or private transport and walk down the “road to the hotel” no stair climbing necessary! Except for the ones at the hotel if you stay on an upstairs floor. The room was clean, room service fast and not really noticed which is great. The balcony’s upstairs are spacious and give great views of the ocean. Try to get the corner ones as they are even bigger and you can see some of the mountainside as well as the ocean. Alfonso at the front desk is amazing! He makes you feel like family and that every time you walk in the door he is delighted to see you and hear about your day. He is an asset to this hotel. The breakfast was great. Although a bit difficult to place order due to language barrier and no menu. But basically anything I asked for they could make or come up with. Fresh squeezed orange juice! Amazing. Freshly made on order eggs. Toast, pastries etc. don’t be fooled by the small prep area. They have a lot hiding back there! All in all it is a great hotel in a good location and I would recommend it to anyone. I will...

For 240 EUR pr night, this hotel is rather expensive, but so is everything else in Positano. Service: 5⭐ The service was great. We asked if they could open a bottle of wine for us and they even gave us two nice wine glasses. They also feel very friendly. Unfortunately the check-in time is 14.30 and their luggage storage is just placing the luggage in the public reception area. You just have to hope that nobody takes your luggage if you arrive at noon like we did. Rooms: 5⭐ We had room 24 with a partial ocean view and it was a very nice looking and clean room. Everything seems new and there is even 2 real orchids in the room. It feels to nice! Breakfast: 4⭐ There were a good variety of food at the breakfast. The bread was not the usual boring Italian bread, but something with a little more substance. There were a variety of Italian meat, some juice, milk, yoghurt and the usual cereal products. On top of that they had fresh fruit (mostly oranges and peaches), croissants and they can make you a really nice coffee or cafe latte. Location: 5⭐ The location is great. It's situated directly in the center of the town with very short walk to everything. Very convenient location!

We took the ferry in from Naples and loved that this hotel was a Great location from the port. We were able to walk with our carry on luggage to the hotel (however given that you go up a couple flight of stairs you have the option to pay people at the port to transfer the luggage for a fee). We traveled with a one year old and found the hotel to be child friendly! The patio was very safe for her. They also provided a crib upon request. Provided us with a large water bottle upon arrival (small details that are nice for incoming travelers). Waterfront Room views were beautiful and of good value. The staff were all wonderful and welcoming especially to our child. I loved that when we left, we could just leave our keys at the front desk so we didn’t need to carry around anything extra for a beach day. The breakfast was included and great given the prices you pay for basic groceries in the area. There were a good mix of sweet and savory options. Fresh mozzarella and tomatoes were the best!

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night on a very last minute trip to Positano, and it ended up being the best hotel experience we have EVER had. Alfonso was absolutely incredible, he went above and beyond many times for us such as helping us find transportation to Napoli airport, lending us scissors and a wine opener for the room, letting us know the best sights and viewing spots in Positano, and offering the best hospitality we’ve ever experienced. The room was absolutely stunning.. extremely spacious, they left complimentary water bottles in the fridge, offered us beach towels, and the complimentary breakfast was phenomenal. Made to order coffees, omelettes, pastries, charcuterie, yogurts, you name it. The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect and right within all of the little shops, about a 2-3 min walk to the beach and quite literally 15 seconds from the nearest restaurants/bakeries. Google should open up a 6 star rating and this place should get it.
