La Goletta — Restaurant in Rapallo

It was one of those days - hot, too many tourists, every restaurant was over-flowing; when they saw large groups - chairs got folded and/or seats were suddenly 'reserved' etc.

At this restaurnt, the older waiter saw us with kids and walked us to the front door and accommodated us. We still had to wait 30 mins, but were glad - at least our lunch was secured!

Food was excellent. Anchovies (cold and fried) were mouth-watering. Mussels were delicious.

Service: they were clearly overwhelmed with the other big groups and large orders. We had to request silverware multiple times; we had to remind our 1 off order multiple times. And the fact that they didn't speak any English added to the extent, that they were getting frustrated. Not a biggie for me. Oh...I don't think, they had a high chair for kids. Don't remember that part.

The “BEST” Seafood Pizza I have ever eaten……While commuting to neighboring villages and cities near Rapallo Italy, we happened upon a quaint Pizza and Mediterranean restaurant named La Goletta. I enjoyed the best pizza I probably ever ate in my life…..and at my age, I have many… All I can say is….if you love seafood, try it and you will be writing the same kind of review. The other pizzas others were have look great too….but I tried to enjoy fresh seafood everyday….since it isn’t so plentiful in Cleveland, Ohio…..but we do have the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. My wife and her sister and husband enjoyed the pasta with meat sauce and the pasta with seafood. I am highly disappointed with the service in this restaurant. We ordered 5 pizzas and some wine, and we waited for at least one and a half hour for the food, meanwhile other guests who came after us got their food right away. The waiters weren’t very attentive nor communicative, so if you asked them for anything they would simply ignore you. I understand that not everyone speaks english, however it would be nice to at least notice that there is a big group waiting for food. Additionally, the final price was with a tip included, which we weren’t informed about. The tip we were forced to give was not even closely appropriate for the service we had received.
