Very disappointing experience. The older lady seemed nice from our observation but our waiter (bald head and glasses - mentioned in other reviews) was actively rude and ignored us throughout our visit. Interestingly he seemed attentive to other tables of what seemed to be American tourists, so we guess he thought he would get a bigger tip from them, which is a big assumption. My husbands pasta meal was average, mine was terrible. I ordered squid and got a small plate of fried rubbery food, with a couple of wilting lettuce leaves on the side. My local fish and chip shop at home does a better job for a fraction of the cost and with a smile. The bread was stale and it took ages to get the bill, which was annoying as we felt so uncomfotable we really just wanted to leave asap. It has been more than a month since we visited and this experience is still sitting in my mind, which is why I thought I'd write a review. It's not often we are treated so disrespectfully and it took the shine off an otherwise great trip. My advice to them would be to treat all customers nicely, no matter how they look or where they come from. I assume the high turnover of tourists means that bad reviews won't make much difference to their customer numbers but there are much better places to eat in this town. We stayed for 10 days in Ravello and this was the only disappointing meal we had. Everywhere else they were polite and the food was great - I'd recommend avoiding this tourist trap and going to one of the many other options within a few...
Read moreI came here with my girlfriend having already had 1 fantastic night in Ravello, which is such a beautiful little town with great charm and even better views. This being our second night we thought we’d try this place, as it looked rustic and like it would sell some lovely classic Italian dishes. Unfortunately we did not get this. The food was average. Not horrendous, but certainly nothing to write home about. Possibly 2.5-3 stars for the food. The main reason why I feel it necessary to write about this place is due to the appalling and quite frankly lecherous waiting staff. They were rude from the beginning providing me with a very tiny dish of Ragu, when it seems that everyone around me with the same dish had enormous portions. I asked quite politely if it was a mistake and if they wouldn’t mind giving me a little more. And so they waited until I’d finished my dish and then came back with an enormous plate of pasta asking me in a rude way if that was enough. Fair enough, perhaps I shouldn’t have asked. But it seemed odd and extremely passive aggressive. In fairness to them they didn’t charge me for the 2nd plate. However the big issue was when it took 3 waiters at the end to all come over and ask how everything was and provide us with the bill, lingering and taking it in turns to stare down my girlfriends top in such an obvious way that she simply asked if we could just leave. And she felt quite nauseous by the whole experience. We paid and left. Would certainly not go back again....

While exploring Ravello, Italy, we stumbled upon Cumpa Cosimo Restaurant, a true hidden gem. The night before, it was packed, so we returned for lunch—and we’re so glad we did. We were greeted by Nonna (grandma) Netta, who welcomed us like family, kissed me on the head 💕, and insisted I try her tiramisu. Suddenly, it felt less like dining out and more like coming home to grandma’s cooking.
We enjoyed their famous cannelloni and fettuccine Bolognese for lunch, then came back again for dinner—because it was that good! Dinner highlights included lasagna, chicken (so moist & perfectly cooked), and fresh salad. Every dish tasted homemade, comforting, and filled with tradition.
Grazie nonna Netta😘
