A Sweet Hidden Gem in Ravenna. Don’t Miss It!

At the beginning of May 2025, I visited Ravenna with my sisters. The city is a treasure box, full of historical wonders, vibrant energy, friendly people, and restaurants to die for. But among all the beautiful discoveries, one of the most special for us was this amazing pasticceria.

The first thing that draws you in is the incredible aroma on the street and the irresistible display of sweet and savoury treats in the window. We stumbled upon it while searching for a place to have breakfast. We grabbed our coffees from the bar next door and sat outside the pasticceria, which they warmly allowed. We could enjoy our drinks while choosing cakes, biscuits, and savoury bites from their delicious selection. That in itself was such a friendly and welcoming gesture.

What can I say about this place? Absolutely unforgettable. If you don’t visit, you’re truly missing out. They offer so many local delicacies, all freshly baked with love. The staff are incredibly friendly and generous with their time and knowledge. We asked many questions, and every lady behind the counter answered us patiently and kindly. We were even curious about one particular cake, and the lovely lady went above and beyond; she came out with a handwritten list of all the ingredients and explained them in detail.

We bought many goodies to bring back home, and our families absolutely loved everything. This pasticceria isn’t just a place to grab something sweet; it’s a whole experience of Ravenna’s heart and hospitality.

Dato che sono stata definita dalla sig.ra Raya Rabinovich Katz “la cliente italiana che spettegolava con la commessa”, da lei definita “scortese” vorrei precisare che: 1) il forno era affollato e c’era la fila fuori, che la signora non rispettava spingendo per entrare. Le ho spiegato in inglese che c’erano già troppe persone all‘interno e che quindi era corretto attendere fuori. Peraltro c’era con lei un uomo che è entrato e uscito più volte “per guardare” fregandosene del rispetto degli altri. 2) Dato che mi stava appiccicata alla schiena (peraltro continuava ad urtare il mio zainetto…) decido di entrare, ma nemmeno all’interno la signora rispettava le distanze. 3) L’ho pregata di rispettare il distanziamento previsto dalle norme covid (in inglese) e lei si è messa a sbraitare che la mascherina non la metteva perché non era obbligata a farlo (nessuno le aveva chiesto di metterla..). Fatti i miei acquisti, mi sono fermata fino a che non è arrivato un altro cliente, perché la signora stava decisamente mettendo in difficoltà la commessa, e l’impressione che avevo non era positiva, considerando anche l’atteggiamento del signore che era con lei. Relativamente ai miei acquisti, pane e pasticcini top! E vorrei esprimere il mio sostegno alla commessa così malamente criticata, che è stata fin troppo gentile, in...

Abbiamo ricevuto i dolci di questo forno in regalo, proprio perché pare che siano originali di Ravenna o comunque della zona, e che dire: ne siamo rimasti stregati. Nella sua semplicità e delicatezza, la ciambella alla ricotta con farina di mais riempie il giusto; amo la sua consistenza granulosa. L'altro dolce, invece, di cui purtroppo non so il nome, mi ha proprio conquistato: la frolla, insieme al cioccolato e alla frutta secca, regala una combinazione di gusto divina per le papille gustative.
