I read the other reviews of this place and then when I ate here and realized yet again that way too many people confuse "being away from home, trying new things, and having a good time on a Roman holiday" with "5-star restaurant". Seriously. By Roman standards, this place totally sucks. It's a tourist dive at best, and by normal standards, it's just plain sad. We should have been tipped off be the Brits asking for salt and pepper to spice up their food. That's not something you hear in good restaurants ... especially from, (ummm, sorry but y'all eat bland food!) the Brits. Our meal was so uninspired and poorly executed. Maybe it was because they were working with such a boring menu?? Artichokes were bland and soggy. :-( Pasta bland and undercooked. :-( . :-( . Insalata from a bag. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( Veal so bland and lifeless that it reminded of a chicken fried steak I once had in a Cracker Barrel near Jefferson City, Missouri. (SO SAD!) :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( We felt sorry for the waitress, and for the single woman she inexplicably sat two feet away from us in a half empty restaurant. Our new cell mate apparently had work at the nearby embassy. My sweet wife and I, we bemoaned, had no such excuse. Oh, and here's a hot tip for the other idiot reviewers that give this place five stars just because they like tiramisu -- "DEAR AMERICANS AND TRUMPANZEES -- EVERY FREAKING RESTAURANT IN ITALY SERVES GREAT TIRIMISU." smh Hopefully, this snarky yet heartfelt review might spare some other Roman traveler(s) the idignity of unneccessarily eating a sad meal in the Eternal...

Read moreMy wife and I wanted to treat ourselves for the last night in Rome, this restaurant was around the corner from our hotel and the reviews were great!
The raw tuna starter was absolutely delicious (1st pic with the cube of tuna)
Our mains, I got the steak. It was okay, the piece I got had a massive bit of gristle through it. For €25 for the steak alone I expected better and I was surprised it was just the steak it would've been nice if the waiter let us know the price is for just steak.
My wife had the octopus spaghetti, she and I both thought her pasta was very bland. It tasted like sea water with some salt mixed in with thick pasta.
The desert was a deconstructed Tiramisu, it was very nice.
In short, the starter and desert were great. Mains not so much maybe we just picked the wrong items.
Our bill came to just over €90 for 3 courses and a...
