On this trip we spent 2 nights in Rome after stops in Milan, Verona, Venice, and Florence. A friend of our Italian hosts threw a party there our first night - unreal amounts of food and wine. It was obvious to us that he was very familiar with the owners and we were treated like royalty. The pizza was so good, we actually went there our second night because it was only a block and a half from our hotel, and we had to catch an early train. Dinner was good, service was abominable. Our (American) husbands got up to go pay the bill in the front. They came back and said that they had paid the bill with cc's and were told that the service charge was not included because that is collected in cash. Not being familiar with how much to give them, the guys came back to the table and asked our Italian friend (traveling with us from their home in northern Italy) how to handle this. A look of absolute fury came over her face, and she got up and went to the front. After a very short time, she returned to the table, saying "They want to bring us limoncello. Humph". She then grabbed her things, and we all did the same, following her out as she told the manager exactly what she thought of him. End of the visit to San Marco. It was actually very disheartening as it was the first time we encountered ANYTHING other than amazing Italian hospitality during the first week of our trip. Obviously taking advantage of tourists - AVOID...

Came here with 3 of my friends for dinner because 2 of them had been there before and were raving on how good the pizza was.

Yes, pizza was good. But the service was HORRIBLE. I have never experienced such rude behaviour from a waiter in my life. The rolling of the eyes, and the attitude, the throwing of menus on the table, the disappointment when we didn’t order dessert. Not to mention he barely checked up on our table. Then had the audacity to say that tip is cash and not on card. I couldn’t believe it. This waiter expected tip after such horrendous service ?? I wanted to eat my food and leave asap.

This is a big tourist trap as well. So beware. They place bread on the table when you didn’t even ask and then charge you for it.

Had a mushroom pizza and asked for shaved truffle on top, (pizza is €12, but with the shaved truffles it came to €29) not to mention the amount of truffles I can count on my hands. It was a rip off. Had I known it would have been that much for that little of an amount I would have declined getting the truffles.

Please know that the food is good, but the waiter made our night such a disappointment.

Will not go back and will advise my other friends and crew members to also find another...

I was surprised this restaurant is recommended by Marriott Bonvoy. Especially Asian tourist. Be aware if you visit this restaurant. Well, overall dishes were cooked well. Unfortunately, we met both unprofessional waitress and manager. I asked the waitress how big was the steak in portion. She said not big and enough for two person. And it turned out to be as huge as 1kg which was enough to feed 3 Asian. Common sense, for two average person, how could you expect two person to finish 1kg of meat while we had other side order. Perhaps they didn’t know that most Asian are small eaters. Totally understand but the least they can do is to attend to us when there is a complain. Sadly the manager didn’t even bother about it. We ordered a spaghetti Vongole and a steak, original check was €124, and after complaining they reduced to €108. Anyhow, it didn’t help with my concern, I’m willing to pay for good food and good services. But I would never pay for such rude attitude. And most importantly, I hate wasting food! Please learn more of taking order according to the...
