I chose this restaurant because I saw photos of the truffle pasta shared by other customers. Today is the last day of our European trip, so I was really looking forward to ending it on a perfect note. However, when the pasta was served, it didn’t look like the photos I had seen, and there was no truffle. I thought I might have ordered the wrong dish and felt a bit disappointed but decided to just go with it.

Halfway through eating, I realized the dish I ordered was supposed to have truffle, so I asked the server, ‘Is this dish supposed to have truffle?’ She paused for a moment and then said ‘I can add’. Before I could say anything else, she immediately took my plate away. When she brought it back, there were a few truffle shavings sprinkled on top of the half-eaten pasta, which made it look unappetising. I felt a bit uncomfortable.

I couldn’t hold back and called her over again. I showed her the picture I had seen and compared it with the plate in front of me, now topped with truffle shavings on leftovers. I tried to make her understand how awkward this situation was. At first, she didn’t see the difference, but later she said there was a system issue, so the dish was not marked as including truffle when I ordered it.

I was confused because there wasn’t an option for the dish without truffle and why she brought away my dish to add truffle that quick. So I asked her if I would be charged the truffle-inclusive price when it came time to pay. She didn’t answer at first, so I asked again. She then replied that no, I would only be charged the truffle-exclusive price.

At that point, I felt quite upset. The communication didn’t go smoothly, and I even felt misunderstood. Her tone, expression, and attitude made me feel like I was making trouble out of nothing.

I really hope this so-called system issue can be resolved, so future customers can receive the correct dishes they order. I also hope she can handle this situation better next time if it happens again.

PS: I eventually received an apology when I explained above to her...

For the pasta dishes, we had two exceptional plates: the Truffle Pasta, which was luxurious and earthy, with generous shavings of fresh truffle elevating every bite, and the Tomato-based Pasta, a classic yet hearty dish where the fresh, homemade pasta shone through, perfectly coated in a rich tomato sauce.

To finish, we indulged in the Tiramisu, which was not only visually stunning but tasted as good as it looked. Creamy, light, and dusted with cocoa powder, it was the perfect conclusion to a fantastic meal.

The combination of freshly made pasta, locally inspired dishes, and the unmistakable atmosphere of a true Italian restaurant makes Il Fellini stand out. The place feels special because of the locals dining there, the authentic vibe, and the clear attention to quality ingredients and preparation.

This turned out to be such a memorable gem while spending time in Rome 💎 The atmosphere alone made it stand out—exposed brick, warm lighting, and cozy music playing softly in the background gave it a timeless, elegant feel that immediately set the tone 🎉

My husband and I walked in right as they opened, and at first it wasn’t busy at all. Tbh, we were a little surprised when they asked if we had a reservation. But within minutes, the place filled up completely, and it all made sense—this is clearly a local favorite, and for good reason 😏

The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our Server went out of his way to make thoughtful recommendations and assured us we made wonderful choices with the prawns and the traditional antipasto. Both dishes were so fresh and flavorful 💥 To top it off, the Chef even sent over a complimentary bruschetta, which was a delightful surprise! And then there was the Aperol Spritz—absolute perfection (trust me, I would know lol). It hit the spot after a long morning of sightseeing for sure, and the ratio of Aperol to prosecco to soda water was spot on 🍹

What made this experience even better was the timing and convenience. We had dressed up a bit for a tour earlier that day and thought instead of grabbing takeout and heading back to the room, why not sit down and enjoy a proper meal? This lovely restaurant not only delivered—it exceeded every expectation. And the cherry on top? We were able to walk right around the corner back to our stay at the nearby RoomSelect Via Veneto, happy, full, and already talking about how we’d love to return 🙃
