If I could give this place a zero star, it would be ZERO. I reserved a table for 10pm here months prior to our visit to Rome. I had planned a beautiful Bachelorette for my best friend. There was 12-14 of us visiting from Canada, Alcazar confirmed my reservation the morning of - So I thought great, we are going to have such a great time here having cocktails, listening to music and enjoying what looked like a great atmosphere. Fast forward to the evening, during an incredible dinner at Hotel de la Ville ( amazing place - highly recommend ) I was trying to sort out some Ubers to Alcazar Live, but when I googled the directions, my google maps showed them to be closed... I thought that cannot be right, I got a confirmation from them THAT morning. I quickly went to the hotel concierge and asked them to call Alcazar to see if everything was fine. The gentleman at the desk was AMAZING, he called and spoke to someone from Alcazar and they informed him they were in fact closed. So here I am utterly screwed for the remaining plans for what was supposed to be a killer Bachelorette. They said, oh our online booking system needs to be updated...Heres a suggestion, if someone makes a reservation prior to visiting Rome and planning a once in a lifetime party for his best friend - fix the booking system and inform me that your place of business is in fact closed. Complete waste of time, and totally unprofessional.
The kind gentleman at the concierge was completely shocked and made a few suggestions. He went out of his way and made a few calls on my behalf - got me and 12 other people a section at Bar Kong, which was so amazing. I suggest go there instead of this incompetent and rude...
Read moreSimply top-notch! Bouncers and staff were pleasant, professional and courteous. Bar prices were solid. The DJs absolutely killed it (one of them even had an electric guitar and played very well). The crowd was mostly local, but I had no problem interacting as an english-speaker. Everybody was cool and there to have a good time (rather than just get wasted). Moreover, it’s a fun place even if you’re not drinking/doing drugs (which I wasn’t).
I happened upon Alcazar while I was walking the streets at about 10:45 PM on a Sunday in mid-October. What initially grabbed my attention was the vibe of people outside; it seemed like a really cool hang, and I didn’t see many tourists. I paid 15€ and got in without having to wait in line. Inside, the party was going, with the club at 60-70% capacity. By 11:15 PM, the place was full but not overly crowded (so maybe 80% full), and shortly thereafter the club was mostly full. The crowd started to diminish after 1AM, and then the party was over by 2AM.
I had an amazing time; Alcazar is perhaps the best club to visit on a Sunday night in Rome (if not most places), and it deserves consideration as one of the best dance clubs in the...
Read moreIf possible I would give it MINUS stars due to XENOPHOBIA. I was forbidden to enter the party to collect my friends and even AGGRESSIVELY PUSHED by one of the security guards even though I did not do any aggressive movements. I even tried to speak in Italian, but as the security guy recognised me as a foreigner they spoke in English with me and did not let me in to find my friends. I had payed the full ticket, had the stamp, but even so was completely mistreated because I was not a local. They let other Italian speaker go back, but not me, even saying “I’m doing not wrong, I come in peace and need to find my friends.”. Never go there if you are a foreigner, and if you are not, go there knowing that they are not the normal type of people you should expect 🥲 disrespect shouldn’t be accepted in ANY SPHERE. My first night at Rme and I have...
