I think they hate tourists, so beware!

A local next to us left his plate on the table, and unbeknownst to our knowledge, you’re supposed to take your plates with you when you are finished eating. One of the staff members called us back to clear our plates, which was fine (we even cleared the other guys plate too).

However, the way the staff member spoke to us was loud and aggressive when it was a clear mistake. He also spoke in full italian which was weird behaviour considering he spoke to us in English before this - so he knew we didn’t understand the language.

The food was overpriced and though we appreciate the “experimental” flavours they offer, our total was €21.90 (small pasta, one ravioli and a very small salad). We ate at a place that was recommended by our tour guide the night before and our bill was €39~ and we ordered 2 beers, 3 antipasti, a pizza and a tiramisu - and it was way more satisfying.

The rest of the team were super lovely which was a shame, as only one of them ruined our experience. I felt like the male server was angry about something else and took it out on us. I recommend going to another stall nearby who will offer the same product, I doubt they will scream at you in full Italian and embarrass you, despite knowing you’re a visitor in their country and after you’ve paid them your hard-earned money.

P.S. the nearest bins aren’t associated with the “sit-down” offer they have at this stall, as it’s a few metres away…. So we couldn’t assume we had to take our...

We came to Mercato Testaccio for some lunch. Many places will still closed, I guess due to covid. However, we got what we wanted. We had food from Altro Pasta & Vino and also Mordi & Vai.

We had carbonara and caprese from Altro, and also got a beef tripe panini from Mordi & Vai as well. A couple glass of white wine helped wash down this delicious food. Everything was very cheap. Definitely recommend to anyone to come here for...
