Worst experience ever. the man at the front taking orders and payment was absolutely terrible and mean. my boyfriend ordered a corona and i ordered an aperol spritz. he gave us the ticket, and it said 2 coronas and one spritz. i tried to tell him that we only want one corona, but he basically kept yelling no at me and gesturing to my boyfriend, i think insinuating that my boyfriend did want 2. my boyfriend also tried to tell him no, only one. the man then gestured to the door and basically said forget about it, get out. he did not speak English, which I obviously don’t expect everywhere in Italy. However, holding up one finger is easy to understand no matter what language you speak. we were very frustrated that we simply tried to correct our order and then got yelled at, humiliated, and kicked out. I think he was upset that he was trying to get more money out of us and got caught and corrected. There was no need for that amount of rudeness, no matter what the misunderstanding was, and people like that should not work in customer service. i would not recommend this place as all- treat your...

Terrible Experience - Avoid This Place

I had an absolutely awful experience at this coffee shop that I feel compelled to share as a warning to others.

The coffee I received tasted like dirty dishwater - it was watery, stale, and had an unpleasant, brackish flavor that made it nearly undrinkable. I couldn't finish it because it was so bad.

To make matters much worse, within a short time after drinking what little I could stomach, I developed severe stomach pain. I can't say with certainty it was from the coffee, but the timing was too close to be coincidental. This raises serious concerns about hygiene standards and the quality of their products.

I would strongly advise anyone reading this to stay away from this establishment. No one should have to pay for a product that not only tastes terrible but potentially makes them sick. There are plenty of other coffee shops in the area that actually care about quality and customer safety.

Save your money and your health -...

I felt very bad treated. I went twice (in the same day, and the difference of going was like 2 hours). The cashier (who was old-white) was very bad person and talked to me like an animal. Just because one of my cards didn’t go through the first time, and I didn’t know until I was waiting for my drink and he told me to go to another place… Even though I was telling him to try with another card, he told me that I needed to go and ignored me… I felt very bad because i didn’t know my card didn’t go through, and because he treated me like a thief. The first time that I went everything was good, but then when I came again everything changed just because of his attitude. I will not come again just because of the way he treated me. So sad because the place has a good location and the drink that I had the first time was good. But im definitely not coming again since I was treated like an animal because of that person. This was today 19th pf April at...

Bar San Calisto is a true Roman gem, offering unbeatable prices in a relaxed, authentic atmosphere. It’s perfect for a morning coffee or an evening drink, with consistently good quality and friendly service. The charm of this spot lies in its simplicity and its popularity among locals and tourists alike. Whether you’re sipping an espresso or enjoying a spritz, it’s an ideal place to soak in the vibe of Trastevere without breaking the bank. It’s unpretentious, affordable, and full of character—a must-visit for anyone wanting a genuine Roman experience. Highly recommended for great drinks and a laid-back atmosphere!

Considering how expensive Rome is during May we couldn’t have took shelter in a better place during a thunderstorm! No nonsense service, always packed, they serve coffee and other drinks I think but their most popular commodity is a Large bottle of peroni for only €2.50, they just pop off the cap and off you go, lots of seating outside and a small area inside, but the beauty of it is that on a sunny day you can just take it out onto the square, sit on some steps, and occasionally around 6pm a live band will play in the plaza outside
