Caffè Novecento — Restaurant in Rome

Outdoor seating at a fairly mediocre cafe, albeit with delicious croissants.

Positives: They do a cute layered caffe latte here, which tasted good and was nice because finding lattes in Rome is genuinely not easy at all. Their freshly-baked croissants were simply outstanding and some of the best that I’ve ever tried.

Negatives: The quiche was nice but VERY small (about the size of my palm) and honestly not at all worth the €10+ price we paid for it. Their slices of brown bread were very dry and not flavorful at all. The avocado slices were black and mushy, I certainly wouldn’t have served it to any customer. The scrambled eggs were…fine? Not seasoned at all though.

If you just want a proper latte and croissant, check this place out. Otherwise, I’d say that there are certainly better options for breakfast and lunch in Rome to try out...

Siamo stati diverse volte in questo bar, sia per una colazione dolce, che per un pranzo veloce, purtroppo tutte le volte, siamo stati trattati davvero male, tanta maleducazione da parte del personale tutto al femminile. Ed é un peccato, perchè le donne che fanno un lavoro al pubblico, dovrebbero essere carine con i clienti, o per lo meno educate. Battutine e frasi sgradevoli dette ad alta voce sui clienti, non é davvero il massimo considerando il livello a cui si vuole ambire offrendo un servizio di prodotti homemade, e attenzione particolare a tutte le pietanze che offre questo bar. All'entrata c'è un buffet a cui non é possibile fare self service, e si così fosse sarebbe meglio coprire le pietanze con delle campane, siccome ho visto più volte le pietanze toccate con mano dai clienti, a cui non é chiaro: NO SELF-SERVICE. Torte bruciate di cattivo gusto esposte e vendute, prezzo €5,00 detto questo non mi lamento del prezzo, ma del fatto che si esponga una torta con il fondo bruciato e fatta pagare per BUONA. Chiesto esplicitamente un latte freddo con all'interno un caffè caldo, purtroppo però non sono riuscite ad accontentare la mia richiesta pur essendo soltanto noi all'interno del bar(forse richiesta troppo complicata da accontentare). La qualità dei prodotti non é male, si fanno pagare, e se é davvero "fatto a mano" è giusto, ma eviterei per il futuro di esporre in vendita prodotti non BUONI, BRUCIATI, ci fate davvero una cattiva figura, inoltre modererei i modi di trattare i clienti siccome sono loro che vi danno lavoro, e soltanto per questo dovreste ringraziare di stare ancora aperti, soltanto la qualità non basta, per un'attività ricettiva che si rispetti, sono tante le caratteristiche che la compongono, e tra queste, la più basilare che insegnano all'istituto alberghiero é la cordialità, cosa che vuoi non avete affatto. Forse lavorate davvero bene con gli stranieri/forestieri, che se pure vengono mandati a quel paese non vi capiscono, ma di certo il vicinato vi eviterà. Contente voi... ...in bocca al lupo...

The place is cute. The waitresses are pleasant. The food and the coffee were not terrible, soe of the worst I've had in Rome, but it was not that big a deal.. (still eatable) For me they deserve 1 star (0 star if I could) only because of their Tiramisu, which is everything but a tiramisu. If I have had that in any other place of the world I wouldn't make a big deal about it. But in rome having some dry biscuits with some tasteless cream on it and calling that tiramisu is eather dishonest or worthless. And in both cases a 1 star is well deserved. Please next time when you don't have something, take it off the menu and stop taking people...
