Caffetteria Massimo — Restaurant in Rome

Unacceptable service today 11:30 am. I was waiting for my turn and both employees were serving based on their preferences. The one chose his girlfriend with whom they were talking about their privates and the other one other sir. Both customers came after me and they was Italians. A couple of tourists, who again went to serve before me, mentioned in front of the worker that it was my turn but he didn't do anything. The other worker after he finished gossiping with his girlfriend then took all the orders from the tables and remembered to ask me what I wanted. Of course I told him that I would leave after waiting for a long time, he said something in Italian (he know WHAT) and left. While this is a great place location wise since its close to the termini bus and train station - the food really disappoints. We came here to have our last breakfast in rome and were disappointed with the food. The bread was not fresh ( shocker!) and the croissant did not croissant like how a croissant is supposed to be croissant - it had a weird underlying taste and was lumpy. There’s two types of pricing- one for counter (don’t know what that means) and one for table. Weird because dinning in should be cheaper right? Or am i missing something?

Anyways, i do not recommend this place even though it’s attached...

Decidiamo di lasciare come capolinea del nostro viaggio la capitale ,nello specifico il museo nazionale romano.. la grande sorpresa è stata quella di trovare un locale in perfetta sintonia con il museo,elegante ,curato,con un atmosfera accogliente,“Al massimo “il locale offre una vastissima scelta dalle insalate molto variegate alla gastronomia,centrifughe, alle pizze.La cantina dei vini regionale e ben selezionata.Per lavoro ho avuto occasione di provare diverse tipologie di cucina ma ciò che ho trovato “al massimo “ mi ha lasciato un piacevole ricordo . Un connubio perfetto tra qualità,accoglienza e cortesia.Ci accompagnano in una elegante sala al piano superiore ,ci mettono al corrente della possibilità di provare i piatti del giorno ,la mia compagna prende il secondo piatto del giorno ,ossia delle costine di vitella con una crosta alle erbette se non sbaglio,sublime, noi altri 3 siamo attirati dal menù a là carte,e decidiamo di avventurarci in un grande classico romano “la cacio e pepe “ , definito estivo ...stuzzica la nostra curiosità anche un cartoccio di baccalà,che decidiamo di dividere in due con una patata al forno successivamente alla cacio e pepe . Che dire, un ottima rivisitazione di un grande classico,fresco , cremoso disposto con cura sul piatto ,e giusta nelle quantità . Il cartoccio si presenta sotto forma di una caramella gigante,una piacevolissima sorpresa che scarti e vieni sorpreso nel trovare anche lì un buon aroma,colore,e gran gusto . il tutto viene accompagnato da un ottimo vino “cesanese “. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo , ci rechiamo nuovamente al piano inferiore dove prendiamo un caffè con una gradevole Cremina di accompagnano. Insomma ,cura del cliente ,cortesia e qualità .
