Absolutely amazing and would 100% recommend!
Atmosphere: The restaurant has a nice contemporary design with interesting Italian style tiled tables. The restaurant itself when we visited was a more lively one with happy guests chatting loudly and on the night we visited, 2016ish top hits playing in the background at a perfect volume. It never became too loud, but it was not a quieter dining experience. This isn’t a complaint, just an observation.
Service: I can’t decide what was better, the food or the service. We had no reservation and were immediately given the opportunity to seat. Staff were buzzing up and down immediately asking us if we settled alright, telling us how to join the WiFi and scan the QR code for the menu. I’m not a fan of the QR code menu system but I understand how it is convenient for restaurants especially when they need to have access to multiple menus. I’m not sure if they have physical ones available.
This is the part where I explain that the day we went to the restaurant, was our last night in Rome and the waitress who was helping us genuinely made our night, and the entire trip. She was a beautiful slightly older woman who was very gentle and had an actual interest in giving us the best possible experience at the restaurant but also in Rome. So was very soft spoken, patient, spoke English well and took an interest in explaining the dishes, what wines would pair well with the food and why. I asked for her recommendation on their Pasta options and her recommendation was the ‘Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe’. She explained it was a typical Roman dish and recommended a wonderful dry red wine that went really well with the pasta. A proper Roman experience as it were. Throughout our meal she was checking up on us and making sure we were happy (which we definitely were). The other staff were also very attentive, bringing additional plates, cutlery and taking away what needed to be taken away immediately. For dessert we asked for a Tirimisu, she then told us they don’t have that but rather their speciality called ‘ Babamisù’. She explained what it was and we definitely were interested. She returned and said they had none left so instead recommended a plate of 5 small desserts so that we can try each and get the best experience. It was called the “Degustazione Campana”. Once it arrived she very kindly explained in detail what each dessert was.
I genuinely was very happy with the entire experience, the food and especially her service. The moment that made the entire evening for me was when I tried the dessert called ‘Babà Classico’, (the mini version from the platter). I physically reacted with smile and sitting up in my chair. She saw my reaction and quickly ran over to see what I reacted to and with a warm smile, made a comment reinforcing my reaction and offered to bring a normal size version of the dish, to which I said yes please for takeaway. We felt so taken care of and were shown genuine care and interest which made the biggest difference.
Food: The food was amazing. We ordered the ‘Bruschetta Mista’, essentially a platter of 4 different types of Bruschetta’s. They were all really good and the perfect starter for two. The ingredients were fresh and nicely prepared.
My partner ordered the ‘Sautéed Mussels’, it was a nice portion, with well prepared mussels in a very complimentary sauce and bread. Really good overall.
My order, the ‘Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe’, was brilliant. I usually like dishes with more than just cheese and pepper but at the servers recommendation, I decided to give it a try. The pasta was so fresh and well cooked, perfectly. The amount of cheese, and quality of cheese was superior and was just right. The balance of pepper was also done so well. Everything was just perfect which for me again is a surprise because I like a more complicated pasta that has lots of ingredients.
Every single little dessert from the dessert platter we got was fresh and made so well. No fault and would recommend it!
Again! Definitely recommend...
Read moreWe arrived at the restaurant around 2:05 p.m. and were told to wait 20 minutes, which was fine. The manager kindly gave us a table at 2:20 and we placed our order for two pizzas at 2:25.
By 2:45, we politely asked about our order and were told it would take five more minutes. At 3:00, we checked again, and the manager repeated the same. Just after that, another waiter came over and said that if we wanted to leave, we could leave and didn’t have to pay for the pizzas.
We were shocked by this response. We had no issue waiting — we just wanted an update. Instead, we were made to feel unwelcome and disrespected. Whether it was due to arrogance or bias, I can’t say, but the attitude was completely unprofessional.
We never even got to eat the food, but the experience left a very bad impression. No matter how good the pizza might be, hospitality...
Read moreAbsolute tragedy! We ordered and the waiter asked if he should bring everything together and we said yes. I got my pizza 15 min before the other dishes… The salads were not flavoured, no dressing, nothing. Completely tasteless and made with cheap products. My pizza said it was spicy but it was way way too hot and I had to drink two beers in order to manage to eat it. One of the dishes said it’s with pealed shrimps and they weren’t pealed and didn’t have other ingredients it said it had and it was also tasteless. The server said 50 times he was sorry but didn’t make anything right for us. Very very disappointing experience as we went there with high hopes. It was my mum’s birthday and they didn’t even give her a piece of cake to apologise but some cheap chocolate truffles…The beer was the only good...
