T-Bone Station — Restaurant in Rome

We passed this place last night on our way to the hotel and it looked really busy, so we gave it a try tonight as a break from pasta/pizza, BIG MISTAKE !! We were first in as the doors unlocked, and one of the staff was sat at the seat by the till attending to a blister or cut at the back of her foot, with a co worker helping her out. We were seated with menus then left for a good 10-15 minutes without being asked would we like a drink. I almost left at this point and wish we had. My wife and I ordered New York steak (supposedly sirloin), paid extra for fries as they aren’t included, and our daughter ordered a chicken burger. Drinks were a medium and a small Moretti, and a cafe latte for my daughter. I wasn’t sure the beer was actually Moretti, and the latte was lukewarm but that was ok with my daughter. When the steaks came I knew instantly they wouldn’t be great. They didn’t look like they had been seared, or charcoal grilled as you would expect from a “steakhouse” the meat was fatty and hard to cut and pretty tasteless on the whole. Was very much on the fence about eating here. I was craving steak and this place is very close to my accommodation. On one hand the reviews are overall positive but on the other hand, all the pictures of steaks looked questionable at best. Exhausted and hungry I took the plunge to give it a go. I ordered the plank steak, a 300g sirloin that I thought sounded interesting as it came with a balsamic glaze + cheese dressing and a side salad. Food came out super quick (questionably quick), not even 10 mins passed since i ordered my meal came. The salad was a few sad pieces of lettuce and some cherry tomato with no dressing and the steak with the balsamic glaze just did not taste good together. I ended up scraping off the balsamic glaze and putting it on my salad as a dressing so I guess that was okay? However, now the steak itself was rather flavourless as it tasted like it was barely salted to begin with. Quality of the steak was okay, a few bits quite chewy and sinewy but mostly was soft. My wife and walked past the TBone station whilst we have been staying in Rome a few times. We decided to have the chicken rice and vegetables and the Chicken curry and rice. The food was absolutely disgusting so much in fact something I haven't done before is to tell a staff member this meal without a doubt was the worst meal we have ever had. The chicken was so dry the whole meal was microwaved it was awful that we ate a few mouthfuls and left. I will say to the staffs credit we offered to pay for the meal as we did have drinks( coke a cola) but the staff said they were sorry about the meal and did insist on us not paying so I will give them credit for this. However avoid the place if they are serving up dried up chicken luckily we didn't order the steak at the prices...
