We ate here today after visiting the Vatican. The food was good, particularly the pizza and the waiters were friendly. However, the owner then came out when I asked for the bill and proceeded to overcharge us, I believe intentionally. She wrote all the amounts out by hand on a scrap of paper, and added 20 euros at the end. After paying, I decided the total sounded expensive for what we had so asked for the menu to check the prices. I worked out she had overcharged us by 17 euros. Having said something, she said the total included 12% tax but she had thrown away the piece of paper. She then gave me back 5 euros. I looked at the menu again and saw right on the back in small letters the 12% was a service charge, not tax. I checked on Google to see if this charge is mandatory, and it is if it is stated on the menu, but it does seem to only happen in touristic restaurants. The owner then, miraculously, found a printed till receipt of my meal with the 12% included to prove it was legal, but it did prove that she still owed me money, which I insisted she paid me back. So please insist on a printed bill...
Read moreThe one time I didn't look at reviews before eating at a location and it was a disaster. My friend just arrived and we were planning to grab a quick meal, after seeing a bill of 187 euro, I had questions. Additional items were added to our bill that we had not had. Additionally, they charged 10% on every item and then a service charge. The service charge had to be outrageous, because even though they deleted the erroneous charges the service charge never changed. Needless to say, this place seems like they completely pray on people. Their food was not too bad. The pizza wasn't good, but pasta was decent. The problem is that you pay nearly double the price or pay for items you didn't purchase and they play dumb when asked about the fraudulent charges. Read the reviews, the do it to people all the time. You can tell that they don't care either or else there would be replies by the establishment for their negative reviews, but their are none. They...
Read moreWORST PIZZA AND A PLACE YOU CAN FIND IN ROME! We had been in the Vatican museum and we just came out of it, hungry and tierd and this was the first place we saw that looked realy nice and clean. We sat down and ordered, I ordered a pizza with olives, mushroom and ham and I decided to add salami as a extra topping. When I got the pizza they had cut the pizza in 4 slices the parma ham was on one slice, the salami was on a another and the mushrooms (wich where out of a can) and olives (about 3 pieces) where on the other end. The meat looked really questionable as in old. My friend got a pizza with parma ham and mushrooms and it had only 2 small pieces of parma ham. And just to ad on the whole pizza thing, it was most definitely a FROZEN pizza. We could tell it on the texture. The charged waaay to much for this pizza and they added on a servies fee, I would have liked to decide on my on if I wanted to tip them, wich I would...
