Let me start with the service—the service was excellent. Madhu was our server. She was personable and attentive. We called her over several times for this or that. Madhu was always pleasant and available. The other servers were also quite friendly. When I went in to check out the pastries, they were very helpful in telling me about the various dulces.

Caffe Delle Commari was nicely situated on a small quiet street with a very nice seating area outside. The tables and chairs were well-situated to nicely accommodate parties of 1-4, with enough room to get in and out and sit comfortably.

Now for the food—we selected Caffe Delle Commari because of its full breakfast menu. We were looking for a hearty meal, not just pastries and beverages. Caffe Delle Commari offered several hearty meal options at reasonable prices. My husband, being originally from England, was able to order an authentic English breakfast, including beans and toast, eggs and four meats. My sister and I each had Commari’s breakfast, including a generous portion of eggs, European bacon, toast, croissant, fresh butter and jam, fresh squeezed orange juice, along with coffee or hot chocolate, each meal for under 20 Euros. Very good value. Afterwards, I ordered their pistachio croissant. No one was overwhelmed by the breakfast, but neither were we underwhelmed.

The meats and toast were my favorites. The scrambled eggs were fresh. They were not how I would expect them in the US, but I’m in Italy, not the US. I liked that the orange juice was fresh squeezed, but it was a bit thin. My hot chocolate was beautifully visually appealing, but made with water, so not so tasty. My sister learned from my experience and asked for her hot chocolate to be made with milk—much better! The regular croissants that came with the meal were a bit dry and overcooked. They left something to be desired. I barely touched the pistachio croissant. It was too sweet for me, and didn’t taste much like pistachio (though it contained real pistachio bits).

I forgot to take pictures of the hearty breakfasts, but I’ve attached what I have.

As hearty breakfasts were hard to come by in Rome and this was a pretty good one, again with excellent service, I would recommend it and...

We were here for lunch and the ambiance is inviting and with soft lighting and tasteful décor that immediately makes you feel at home. It’s the kind of place where conversations flow easily, and time seems to slow down.

Now for the highlight: the food and drinks. Everything we tried was outstanding. The espresso was rich and bold—one of the best I’ve had in the city—and the pastries were fresh, flaky, and filled with authentic flavor. For lunch, I had their homemade lasagna, which was perfectly layered and bursting with authentic taste. Every dish is clearly made with care and top-quality ingredients.

What truly sets Caffè delle Commari apart is the service. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They took the time to explain the menu, made great recommendations, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers.

If you're looking for a place with soul, flavor, and heart, Caffè delle Commari is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return—whether it’s for a quick morning coffee or a leisurely evening with friends.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly...

If you’re looking for the perfect pasta carbonara, this Italian restaurant nails it! The dish was a masterclass in simplicity and flavor. The pasta was perfectly al dente, coated in a silky, creamy sauce made from eggs and cheese—no heavy cream in sight, just authenticity. The guanciale was crispy, adding a smoky, savory kick that elevated every bite.

The balance of pecorino Romano and black pepper was spot on, giving the dish a bold yet refined flavor profile. Every element felt like it was treated with care and precision, staying true to the traditional recipe.

The presentation was elegant but unpretentious, and the portion size was just right—not too heavy but satisfying. Pairing it with an Aperol Spritz was the cherry on top—the light, citrusy bitterness of the cocktail perfectly complemented the richness of the carbonara.

If you’re a fan of classic Italian cuisine, this carbonara is a must-try. It’s a dish that shows respect for tradition while delivering comfort and indulgence. Highly recommend!

Food took 20 minutes to get to the table, understandable if it was home made but it was barely hot, mostly warm. 3 of us got 3 separate tasting pizzas and 1 of us got lasagna and it was extremely greasy and all the pizzas tasted the same somehow. Drinks took 10 minutes after ordering to get it, and 2 of us ordered tap water. Pizza was 9 euro for a full pizza which isn’t bad until you realize how greasy it is, I put 10 napkins on top of the pizza and the oil soaked through completely. I ordered a margarita cocktail which usually tastes good but this tasted like straight alcohol, 0 flavor. My two friends ordered a blueberry smoothie and a peach melon smooth and both smoothies were watered down and not smoothie like at all. Only good thing is fast 200mbps WiFi and complementary garlic bread with cut up tomatoes on it.
