Well, this restaurant was near our hotel, my friend noticed that someone was eating pot pie, she liked visually and decided to visit. Restaurant was empty, just one table with 2 person, who asked the bill when we arrived. We had baby,, one and half years old, who started singing, like all children in general. Some guy from that table came to me and told me to stop baby, because his singing was disturbing for other guests. (I thought this guy was client , but after found out that this man was the most rude owner/manager). This guests left, my friend ordered pot pie and I had not decided yet what I wanted to order . They brought the order and it was miserable vegetable, my friend told that she ordered pot pie, because we saw someone was eating other day, but the waiter started arguing that it is pot pie( as later find out, Italians make money this way with tourists and be careful ). When I finally chose what I wanted to order, the waiter was not there and decided to go inside while saw this rude man, who told me stop your baby, was working on a computer. So I found out, he was not client, he was rude owner/manager ( In Italy owners are managers in most cases). I did not order anything sure, my friend hardly ate this miserable vegetable and we left. The word discrimination is unknow for them, but it was clearly discrimination towards baby. The owner/manager clearly showed us how he hates children, because restaurant was absolutely empty, but he could not stand...
Read moreLike many tourists, I searched endlessly online for the “best” pizza or pasta near the Vatican, only to realize that many places don’t quite live up to their hype. By pure luck, I stumbled upon this Osteria —and what a gem it turned out to be.
From the moment we walked in, the staff welcomed us with genuine warmth and hospitality that immediately set the tone. Their attentiveness made us feel cared for without being rushed, and there was such a personal touch in the way they interacted with guests.
And then the food arrived… absolutely out of this world. Every bite was proof of the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The pasta was delicate yet rich in flavor, and the pizza was perfection—crispy, flavorful, and authentically Italian. It wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience of true Italian cuisine at its finest.
This Osteria is everything you hope to find when you dream of eating in Rome: welcoming, authentic, and unforgettable. A solid 10/10. If you’re near the Vatican and want to taste Italian food done right, this is the place...
Read moreOn the last night of my holiday in Rome, I popped in for a quick bight. I had the fried achovies and zucchinis for the starter, which tasted really good; not too salty, and with a bit of texture to them. For my main course I chose the Saltimbocca (Roman Style), which is meat done in a white wine sauce. It arrived on my plate with only a few game chips, and heavily sauced. So I ordered a side of fries, that arrived resting on red napkins in a rustic bag on a white side dish. It was the first time I tried Saltimbocca, I thought that she said the meat was with cheese. The meat was tender, and the sauce wasn't too overpowering. The chips were well cooked soft potatoe wedges, done just right. The ambience of the place was quiet and relaxed, with slow jazz type songs playing in the background. The prices are reasonably and the place appears to...
