Il Datterino Giallo — Restaurant in Rome

This place offers a wonderful buffet at lunch and is a normal restaurant at dinner. The all you can eat selfe serve lunch, at 20€, is pretty cheap when you consider the selction of food they offer. They have a nice complete buffet with really good quality food, spanning from pizzas to whole gigantic baked salmons. I think the lunch is really good and i always fill my plate at least three times, but if my stomach could handle it i’d probably go for 10 rounds of awesome food. It disappointed me a bit when i went there for dinner with my partner. There’s no buffet of course, but i was hoping the food would be as good or better. Our pizza was not the best really, maybe it’s just a preference thing but i didn’t quite like it. Service was slow and the bill was adequate but still a bit expensive. So...

It was the worse dinner of my life. I came with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary but they made it a nightmare. The waiter was not normal, first, as soon as she gave us the menu she did not even give us enough time to read it and asked directly what do we want. Second, she was next to us alllll the time turning around our table and looking to is to finish in order to take the dishes. Third, she was next to us and looking at us eating and when we finish she comes alone to take the dish like waiting for us or telling us hurry up. Forth, for one moment we stopped eating and we were speaking, she came to ask if there is something!!! I was like What !!!!! We were there for 2 evenings—fantastic!

The food was excellent and a true delight, possibly one of the best restaurants in Rome.The service was outstanding. As soon as they realized we spoke German, we received perfect service in German: attentive, considerate, helpful, and yet we still had our privacy.

The ambiance was bright, white, and filled with positive energy. The guests were typical Italians, and they know what they’re getting here.

We’ve traveled to many countries, from Japan to Hawaii, and have tried many restaurants and cuisines, but this one is in our top 5. We will definitely return to Rome to enjoy this food and restaurant again.
