Inka Chicken — Restaurant in Rome

I recently visited Inka Chicken in Rome, hoping for a solid taste of Peruvian cuisine. While the food itself wasn’t quite what I expected, it was decent enough considering the price point. Peruvian food is notoriously complex to get right, so I wasn’t expecting perfection—but the flavors were passable, if a bit underwhelming. The real issue, though, was the service. From the moment we walked in, the staff came off as disinterested and, frankly, rude. There was no warm welcome or even basic courtesy. It felt like we were bothering them just by being there. That kind of attitude really sets a tone for the rest of the meal, and not in a good way. While the food has potential and the pricing is fair, the overall experience is hard to recommend due to the poor customer service. This hidden gem is located in the basement of a quiet alley. They serve amazingly good chicken and beef cooked in Peruvian style. Came here with a group of 6 people and everyone was satisfied. We were lucky that it was not fully booked when we arrived without booking in advance, remember to book online to prevent being disappointed. It is possible to order a 1L coke and share among your friends. The whole chicken we ordered was a highlight, the chicken was not overcooked like most places would serve their chicken. The dip sauces they provided was also amazingly good. This shop is definitely one of the few places in Rome where they serve you food portions that are worth your money. Dicono che i migliori ristoranti delle città solitamente si trovano in posti nascosti. E questo gioiello non fa eccezione. Essendo la matrice del marchio di ristoranti peruviani Inka Chicken a Roma, ha un fascino unico. Ambiente molto gradevole, dove la musica allegra e la gentilezza , cortesia e dinamicità dello staff sembra di portarci da qualche parte di Lima, dove quasi in ritmo di elegante ballo i camerieri svolgono il lavoro, in sincronia di un allegro suono tra un misto di reggaeton e la intramontabile e contagiosa cumbia peruviana. Da non perdere l'occasione di bere la sangria, i cocktail a base di pisco oppure la ottima birra cusquena. La chicha morada, una bevanda analcolica fatta a base di mais viola, chiodi di garofano e cannella, di produzione artigianale é molto consigliata e rinfrescante. Oppure ci sta il Inca Kola, una bevanda gassata a base di lemon grass , molto apprezzata in Peru. Cibo eccellente, per carnivori, vegetariani, pescivori. Insieme alla cucina italiana, francese,quella messicana e la giapponese, la cucina peruviana inizia a guadagnare distacco nel mondo per le sue pietanze e ingredienti. E qui, posso dire che tra tutti quelli che ho provato, mi ha fatto ricordare i sapori peruviani. Di una cucina che sembra semplice, ma molto ricca di ingredienti, dettagli, condimenti e dosaggi giusti. Un pranzo di lunedì, che sembrava un delizioso pranzo di domenica a Lima. Non basta soltanto aver materiale di qualità. Ma anche persone che sanno lavorarlo come si deve. E questo lo si nota al primo boccone. E si vede la cura, la pulizia e l'amore con il quale il piatto arriva al tavolo. Complimenti sia ai proprietari che allo staff, continuate l'eccellente lavoro!!!!! Per gli inizianti, suggerisco piatti come il tamal, la papa a la Huancaina, lo anticucho, Lomo saltado, la chaufa , il fritto misto, oppure la casa ha una varietà di ceviche che può essere chiesta insieme alla leche de tigre per chi gradisce il pesce crudo marinato.
