We came to this restaurant to get dinner. I am coeliac, so I have to eat gluten-free. We had the world's rudest waiter with ears that didn't seem to work. We asked when ordering if I could have the ravioli, but since it wasn't available gluten-free, I asked for the same sauce/accompaniment but with a gluten-free pasta. Our waiter said this was fine, and we said 2 or 3 times what we wanted (gluten-free pasta, tomato sauce, burratta, and pesto to top). Then when the meal came, I got just pasta with tomato sauce. I tried to tell the waiter, but he practically ran off, not pausing to take away my mothers starter plate or offer us parmesan or pepper. I waved him down, and he saw me twice and turned around. We had to actually ask another waiter to get him so that he would come back. He finally came back and wouldn't listen for more than ten seconds to what I was saying before disappearing with my dish while I was still explaining. By this point, we had had enough as he had been rude the whole night. We asked to leave and said we would pay for the starter but were forced to stay. He laughed the entire time while apologising, making it clear he didn't actually mean it. We were then brought another dish, still not what I ordered. I ate it because I was hungry, but the pasta was cooked very badly and was still hard in some places and mushy in others. My mother's meal was awful. The meatballs tasted like they were out of a tin, and the pasta sauce was boring and certainly nothing to write home about. When we told the waiter this, he tried to give us another dish, but both of us did not want to be in that restaurant a moment longer. I told him my pasta wasn't cooked well, and he tried to tell me that it's because its gluten free. I have eaten gluten-free for years, and I told him I can cook gf pasta miles better than that. He was pretty unapologetic and just kept laughing and talking over us, so we had to sit in silence as he tried to make excuses and blame the chef. We didn't pay for my mother's pasta dish. While in the restaurant, I also noticed waiter's making faces behind customers' backs and rolling their eyes when asked questions. Clearly, there is very poor respect for the people who pay their wages. Our experience ruined our final...

Me and my girlfriend went to the restaurant on a Wednesday night, it was very busy and it seemed to be understaffed. The interior was clean and modern. There were only 3 waiters working and our waiter seemed to forget that we needed to order because he was frantically running around cleaning tables.

When he came to take our order (when we got his attention) he was pleasant and friendly. We ordered 2 mains and 2 drinks and we waited and waited and waited. After an hour of waiting we enquired to where our food was. Our waiter seemed to panic and went into the kitchen when he came out he continued to attend to others. After getting his attention again he apologised and said the food would be out in 5 minutes.

The food I ordered tagliatelle with prawns and my girlfriend ordered a chicken caesar salad. The pasta was fresh and the sauce was creamy and the seafood taste was very strong. The prawns were nice and tender but there were only 3 of them. My girlfriend's salad was very simple some pieces of cheese, lettuce, a few pieces of chicken and very oily croutons.

After finishing our waiter seemed less busy and promptly took away our plates. I went to pay at the counter and complain to the cashier woman that the food took a very long time, especially since one was a salad. She sadly didn't seem to care and said sorry with a smile and told me that she would pass it onto the chief....which I doubt she did.

Overall The food was nice and so was the waiter when we saw him, the meal cost me 22 euros for the 2 mains and 3 drinks which was quite cheap in my opinion.

The fact that they forgot our order, were too busy to notice we had been waiting, and the cashier woman didn't seem to care at all gives it a 2 star. Go if you are near to it and it's not busy but there are better...

I really wanted to like this place. It was a very nice space.

The waiter was very inattentive. He gave us menus and walked away. No words. Then he came back and stood at our table looking everywhere but at us. No words again. We gave him our order, which included steak and asked how it is cooked. He said well done, we said medium well. He left and did not come back to the table until we were done eating, no more drinks, nothing. When he picked up the plates, he put his hand out for us to hand him the plates. (I will say, this is one of my biggest pet peeves, and it's so much worse in the US.) Then he left again. We ordered dessert with the hostess. He came back with the dessert, sat them down (not even to the right person - we did a plate switch), and walked away. We asked the hostess for the check, she said we could pay inside. So disappointing.... and not typical of service in this country.

The food was just ok. The steaks came out rare, nowhere near what we asked. The flavor was so good, but it had a lot of fat and grisly. We did eat what we could and left the "rawest" parts. The dessert was pretty good and the daughter said the mozzarella sticks were amazing!

When husband went to pay, a different guy asked how it was. Husband said not very good and let him know about the service and the steak. The guy apologized and asked how to make it right. Husband said he just wanted to pay and go. The guy did give us the steak for free, which was very nice.

Overall, I wanted to give 1 star, but after the other guy was nicer, I bumped...

Great staff, great traditional food, great vibes! We passed this place on the way to a different restaurant actually, and it was totally worth it. We sat inside, which was modernly decorated and air conditioned. The bartender actually gave us free shots (it was remnants of a drink he had made for another guest. We just happened to sit beside the bar.) We also received mini glasses of some drink (I can't remember what it was). My friend ordered a pasta dish that used a bit too much lemon for her particular taste. When our waiter noticed she hadn't finished her meal, he was genuinely sad she hadn't spoken up sooner, and rushed to the back to place a new order for her, even though they had began prepping for closing. Unfortunately, he didn't wear a name tag, so I don't have his name, but he has a very nice combover-styled haircut, and could be mistaken for the male bartender's brother (we asked. They're not brothers). The service was so amazing, we returned the next night, and although he wasn't our waiter this time, Giovanni was very accommodating, as well as Marco, who insisted him from time to time. This time around, we sat outside under the covered seating areas on either side of the walkway leading up to the restaurant. The only downside to eating outside was that it's not a smoke-free area like it is in the states, but that's to be expected since Italy is basically country of the cigarettes. Overall, I LOVE this restaurant, and it'll definitely be on my list of places to return to!

After this afternoon's terrible experience at Carlo's Pizza (by calling it a "tourist trap" earlier I was being geerous), we decided to play safe and follow the locals. So we went down the road from where we're staying and tried this joint out. The first thing we saw was immediately encouraging: the restaurant was burtsing at the seams with locals. We asked the hostess (who was very polite) if we could sit outside, but since we hadn't reserved a table al fresco, it was nnot possible. Yet another good sign! So we sat at a table indoors and ordered thhe typical Roman supplí for a starter. I had Spaghetti Carbonnara (what else would you have in Rome?) and the other person who was with me had the Bramble Burger. The supplí was good (although the ragú filling lacked salt) with a crispy outer layer and a good ratio of rice to ragú sauce. I'd rate my Carbonara a decent 7 out of 10 (Casaslurp's Carbonara - despite being served in Turin - is still my absolute benchmark for this dish). The burger was generally good but it was a bit dry. It's a pity because all the ingrediennts tasted good. It just needs that little extra thing to make the American classic taste juicer. This place also seems to serve decent cocktails as we saw a number of drinks being dished out. If you're in the area, The Bramble Bar is definitely worth a try.
