Monday night in Rome, most restaurants are booked, thus the need to hit Google maps and find a reasonable priced restaurant that will be kid friendly
We stumbled onto the Labicana, they were happy to take 8 people no reservations.
Well lit and quaint little bar restaurant
Tables were well dressed and only a few patrons outside and a few inside
Most ordered pastas and risotto, a few salads as listed, most meals were ok , a few could be better- the risotto was terrible, more like a seafood soup and not a lot of scampi
The lasagna was good the vongola pasta was good- the arribbatia was not spicy at all, tasted more like a plain penne in tomato sauce
The veal with mushrooms was good, the saltimbocca was poor
These dishes should be your staple items, not the ones in question.

Waiter was average, but so slow and the food came out at odd intervals. People at the table were almost done when the steak finally came. Asked for the bill and got it 20 minutes later, as he was setting tables. The bill came and it was 208 euro, so when I checked, lots of things we didn’t order was on the bill. After adjustment, the correct amount was on there.
Tiramisu was junk. Pudding in a cup, with some rum soaked cake in it, with a glob of pudding on top. Not...

The steak sauce was a bit too oily , but still tasty , the steak was cooked fine , the tiramisu , was quite exceptional actually , I enjoyed it a lot. The staff is actually the main reason, for my review being 5 stars. Because they were extremely nice to us, and one of the waiters have managed to speak 3 languages with us , which was really impressive! Overally the restaurant is better then it looks, it feels like your mama's kitchen , and I think that's a feeling that hardly a few restaurants...
