Pancia Felice Fornaci — Restaurant in Rome

We gave it a shot, and it was the worst decision ever. First off, we witnessed the rudeness of the owner/manager of the restaurant towards two ladies that sat behind us. It was a lame the way he had treated them, and we already could see our expectations dropped to the ground without even having ordered the food yet.

Lucky us, we weren't served by the manager/owner, but we didn't have much luck with the food. My mother and my partner chose the slice beef. Even though I asked the waiter to have the beef well done, we weren't warned about the cooking method of the dish. To our surprise, the beef was given with a really bad taste gravy, and the dish itself was dreadful. The presentation of the beef couldn't be worse, I strongly believe inmates could eat better than us. Please, whoever designed that dish should hire a real chef to fix that "dish."

It sent my mom to the bathroom straight away, and it had my partner in tears. We could only have half of everything. If this restaurant represents Italy, please dont bother yourself trying it. Go somewhere else, where chefs take pride in their job, who cook their hearts out, in order to provide unforgettable food experience and impeccable customer service.

But that's not all, here it comes the ice of the cake. When we approached the manager to pay, he gave us the receipt, and the first item charged was the service. Apparently, it cost us £3 euros each to recieve the worst experience in a restaurant so far. I couldn't believe we had to pay for such a stupid thing....

WE WERE ROBBED INSIDE THE RESTAURANT!!!

On May 12th, 2025, around 1:30 PM, we were seated in the back indoor area of Pancia Felice Fornaci, near the restroom. A man with a backpack appeared to be in line for the restroom, pretending to be a regular customer. As my wife, mother, and mother-in-law got in line, he left the line, sat at the table next to ours, and—like magic—put my wife’s bag inside his backpack and quickly left the restaurant.

We were shocked and immediately asked the cashier to call the police. He refused, visibly nervous, and told us to call ourselves, knowing full well we did not speak the local language. Fortunately, a kind customer helped us place the call.

While speaking to the police, the cashier intentionally gave false information about the thief’s appearance, describing incorrect clothing (the man was wearing a white t-shirt, black backpack, shorts, and a cap). This only made the situation more suspicious.

We believe the restaurant staff may be complicit in this kind of theft, especially since the man went straight for my wife’s designer Louis Vuitton handbag, which contained our passports and cash.

We filed a police report and have a photo taken before the meal showing the bag and a copy of the report.

Unsafe place, uncooperative or suspicious staff....
