Very average indeed. I had high expectations of this place because it had come recommended from a local friend and it was certainly packed out with locals. For the price I expected the food to be on a similar level to other high tier restaurants. However, the food was just plain average. Gnocchi was by far the worst, pieces were too big and the cheese was cardiac worthy. The pizza was a case of “cover it in toppings and hope they don’t delve any deeper”. The pizza was far too crunchy and the cheese was poorly chosen for the toppings. I tried a salad that wasn’t fresh and meatballs that were slapdashed together. The staff were friendly enough and they were very attentive - kept checking that everything was okay. At the end of the day, if they’re prices were a little lower and their reputation less fancy, I could pass it off as a solid everyday restaurant to come and grab a plate. However, they have a reputation and they charge like they’re pumping out some of the best dishes in Rome and I shall judge...
Read moreDear compatrots of the European Union and the English speaking community, il you are in the San Giovanni area this is a place you may consider for your lunch or dinner. The food is of very good quality but the prices are too high for my budget. In three we spent thirty euros each, having only first plates and desserts. We choosed the menu "Dishes of the day". From that, we took three fettuccine with porcini mushrooms, fourteen euros each. The taste was delicious. As desserts we had one cheesecake and one zabaione of the grandmother. Good but not special. Two bottles of sparkling water and one bottle of a Malvasia wine named Roma and produced by Federici. Very Good wine but at the cost of eighteen euros. As a Plan B you may ask a "pinsa" which is a typical Roman pizza. For details of the "pinsa" ask the host. Pizzas are usually cheaper. The...
Read moreAt the first sight we thought it would be a decent restaurant. It was extremely overpriced and in addition the amount of food was small. I ordered a beer that was not even properly drafted. I got a completely wet (from the unwell drafted beer) glas with hardly 3.5 dl beer in it. (And that for 7€😂) Not to mention that the staff was ignorant and didnt speak at least basic english and we got charged 2€/person for the "service" (without any notice in the menu or from the staff or sg). One would not have problem with paying this if we had had at least the service. At least the (medium small) pizzas were fine after all. I dont think they should spare money on the size of the pasta😂petty minded We have our airbnb in a 50m range but will for sure not go there in our...
