Last week I ate here with my friend. I ordered a Medium Rare peppercorn filet. No less then 50 minutes later a WELL DONE filet was sat down in front of me. The tall thin male waiter was adamant that the solid GREY interior of the meat was Medium Rare. He removed the plate from in front of me. 40 minutes later I asked where the replacement meat was. (My partner had already finished her meal and we had other things to see in Rome that night) He apologized and said "oh I thought they brought it out already" He then ran to the kitchen and said it was in the window. I told him I didn't want it and to take it off of the bill. I pulled out my visa card, he went and ran the card without removing the steak! When he brought back the signature confirmation I ripped it up, and left Euros for the amount owed MINUS the steak. We asked for the manager who never came and eventually just left the money on the table for services rendered and walked away. I just got home, and they fully billed my credit card as well! Double dipping! Thieves! The food we did eat was nothing special. They also never brought us bread. I feel they were very racist...
Read moreThis was the first restaurant my family and I visited upon arriving in Rome, located in the charming neighborhood of Trastevere. We chose it for its convenient proximity to our storage facility near our Airbnb. To our delight, the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, allowing us to be seated right away.
Our server, whose name I can't quite recall, was exceptionally kind and friendly. She demonstrated impressive knowledge of the menu and was incredibly patient with our large group.
Our meals arrived promptly and were served hot. With a party of about 12, it was impressive that everyone's dishes came out at the same time. We enjoyed a delightful spread that included cacio e pepe, lasagna, and various pizzas.
The restaurant was well-maintained, and the bathrooms were clean, which added to our positive experience. Overall, we had a wonderful meal and would consider this a great spot to...
Read moreThe atmosphere is pretty good. The food not so great. At least what we had. It looks better than it tastes. I think tourists would like the food well enough if they don't really know authentic Italian food, but there are much better places to get Roman food. My wife had a salad that had way too much bitter rocket (eruca or arugula) and unripe tomato chunks. I myself love spaghetti alla carbonara. It is a specialty of the Lazio region. It was bad. The guanciale was cut in random sized pieces and was under cooked. I can't really describe the cheese and egg sauce, but it wasn't what I know as carbonara. I will never order it there again. And be careful about ordering the "house" wine. It's usually lower priced but good bulk wine. At this place the house wine is a bottle of generic commercial wine with the "house" label. ...
