Ristorante Casa del Gusto — Restaurant in Rome

We are staying within walking distance of this restaurant. After 8 miles of walking the tourist sites, our family of four was very tired and hungry. Sat down at one of the outdoor tables and had a beautiful meal. Nice bottle of wine, app - and went for the pizzas, which were very good. My 10-year-old ordered the prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella appetizer as his entree and I was a little envious - looked perfect! Desserts were amazing. Wish we had time to go back for some of the pasta dishes.. Saw lots of people waiting for carryout pizza as well. Very cozy spot, reasonably priced, and easy enough to order even though we speak almost no Italian. Staff was friendly and helpful. Was staying at Best Western Astrid around the corner and went there based on rating here.

I ordered the Carbonara which came completely undercooked. It was "homemade" pasta and you could see the core was still flour.

The waiter took it back to the kitchen and after a long wait came with a new dish. This one was little bit better but about 1/3 was still as undercooked as the first. I explained this when paying and was told that it was the pastas fault, not the kitchen.

So if you like undercooked pasta this is the place for you! It's how it's "supposed to be" according to the waiter. On top of this there is a sitdown fee for €4 just to sit in the restaurant.

Ristorante Casa del Gusto is absolutely incredible! The food is freaking amazing so good that after trying it for the first time, we had to come back again on our very last day in Rome. And guess what? Still amazing!

The gentleman with the beard (I think he’s the owner) is truly special. He welcomed us with such a genuine smile, and we left with an even bigger one. His hospitality made the whole experience unforgettable.

If you’re in Rome, this place is a must. Delicious food, warm atmosphere, and wonderful people running it. Highly, highly recommend.
