What a gem of gastronomy and hospitality in the Flaminio neighborhood!

We had the most delicious food at Tiz: we had a fried artichoke starter, pasta cacio e pepe, bbq rib and the ziti genovese. Everything cooked to perfection, just really great food with good ingredients and generous portions. The menu was a combination of traditional dishes and more alternative options, with really high quality ingredients. I would love to go back and try out more of their dishes!

The service was outstanding: the waiters were extremely friendly, explained about the food and the wines. We were able to taste wines poured by glass, which is wonderful. I contacted the restaurant quite late about getting a table for three people and despite the restaurant evidently being a popular spot (all inside spots were booked from 20.15h onwards) they were able to seat us outside on the patio. (And even greeted me by name when we arrived) It was a warm November evening and with the terrace heaters I was even able to take my coat off. Atmosphere was wonderful, I barely noticed cars passing on the other side of the screen. (It was easy to carry out a conversation on the patio)

We had lunch at this restaurant this week and we were very disappointed. We were served a salad of truly rotten spinach and arugula leaves which the waitress too back but there was no apology or a sense wrongdoing. They could have made us sick. The duck breast we ordered was from a frozen piece and you could taste the freezer burn. It seems like this place once had a chef that left some recipes behind and now someone just cooks in the back without any knowledge of taste or hygiene. This resturant is the highlight of my trip. Very welcoming with beautiful lights hanging outside and much more to compliment My top compliments are: staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, two the food was beyond expected I had the beef which was cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth, thirdly the staff remembered it was my birthday and made the effort to bring me an unexpected desert with a candle and happy birthday.
